Parramatta Stadium Rebuild and other stuff

compare it with the L1 line when it first opened and went Central to Pyrmont
Was a glorified casino shuttle service.
Now that Pyrmont has been built up and the line extended to Dulwich Hill it has a lot more use

The current Parra LR is just mainly a shuttle for people on the old Carlingford line to Parramatta - let's see what happens after the next extension and a bit of development
True.
Is it getting much use on match days? I image if you are getting the train from the west it would be an easy trip to the stadium with a change at Westmead
You can just walk through Parra Park from Westmead railway station (and just as quick imo, without bothering with any light rail) or Parra station if you're coming from further west.

Should see a lot of new Olympic and World records set. It's so exciting.

Oh dear. That wasn't good.
The title says doors, but I believe it was only one. Not that that makes it any better.
One positive is that the man and woman in the black jackets near the open door are metro staff, so it was attended to very quickly.

Staff are so valuable to the safe operation of any mass transport system...

My point was that there were actually staff on (in) the metro train who took immediate action.
The only staff on ST's services are locked in the driver's and guard's cabins.
If this happened on a ST's service, the train would have come to a halt and caused chaos and delays throughout the system until it was rectified.

I remember many years ago being on a red rattler from Pendle Hill to the City, when the doors bounced open as it crossed either O'Connell or Marsden Sts in Parramatta. Just as they opened a school girl (memory says she was in high school), let go of the vertical pole to lean against the door(s), and ended up falling backwards out of the train and onto the embankment. I pulled the emergency stop and the guards, etc. jumped off to get to her. Lots of screaming and crying from her friends (obviously) but thankfully, she had no major injuries. Made me late for work though.

Or it could have been moved off to a Siding, as there are a few of those on the network.

I guess the only thing to worry about is the safety of the passengers.

Indeed, the safety of passengers is paramount. Unfortunately, ST's record re safety of passengers isn't that great over the past few years.
Don't get me wrong mate, I actually really enjoy travelling on ST's and think it's a very comfortable and decent system. It just has so much potential to be so much better but is being held back by the you know who union.
Once the digitalisation of the signaling system is complete (and it is only in it's infancy in development and upgrade), I would expect the system to perform much better.
Also, there's not as many sidings as you may think.

For sure, I'm agreeing.

Maybe we should have one additional staff inside every ST train, not locked to guarding or driving duties?

So there's less than a few then?
