Didn't someone mention that in 2001, I was at anz (shudder), they had the big screens set up at Parramatta stadium.

If I cant get to the GF, and I'm trying to, I wouldn't mind watching it there I suppose or I'll just have a BBQ at home and watch it on tv

I thought they set up 2 big screens in 01 but anyway the atmosphere might be good.

Oh and I dont ever pay for parra stadium beer..though i do partake of their coca cola alot ;-)

I believe you will hear more this week, the football office are working on getting screens in and opening up stadium. Not confirmed I believe but they are working on getting something for fans that miss out

I can only tell you what I remember from 2001.

The Leagues club went Members only from 12:00pm. If you were not a member you had to be signed in before then, The Stadium was opened for the TV coverage and we were told the Players would be going back there after wards.

Unfortunately in the time it took me to get from my seat to the Stadium they had moved it back to the Leagues club (due to the fewer numbers thanks to the result).

I have been told the same plan was ready to swing into place in 2005, with the Stadium already holding a tentative booking for the Sunday.

I would, given my last GF (2001) experience in an RSL.

I was surrounded by wankers in Coffs Harbour. I had my jersey on, and was quite obvious in how much i supported Parra. Every other clown in the section watching the footy, was barracking for Newcastle - and taking the piss out of me. I was getting fairly fired up, to say the least. If a decision went against Parra, I would sit there and fume, knowing if I said anything something may start. The bandwagoners were supporting the "underdogs" & giving me plenty.

I quietly moved out, and drove home at 1/2 time, all the time listening to the game on radio & cheering, enjoying myself much more being alone (especially at the end). Even though we lost.

If I cant be at the game this weekend - which I hope to be able to go to - I will definately be at the club or at the stadium, if they do it. I would much rather be around "friends" so that we can share the emotion win or lose. These will be fellow eels supporters, that will have the same passion as me.

If we win, I will shout people, stuff the price. This Sunday, the beers could be $10 a can, and I would still be happy.

Im with you NS eel...nothing better than being round "friends" either in times of need (2001) or great jubilation (2009 hopefully)

It would be nice if you could take an esky with some snacks and have a picnic.

My son is flying down from Casino this friday so I'm hoping to make it special for him.

Thats why I'm hoping to get tix but this (at the stadium) may be next best thing.
