Why bother to watch it on a crap small(ish) screen and pay overs for parra stadium beer ?
I would, given my last GF (2001) experience in an RSL.
I was surrounded by wankers in Coffs Harbour. I had my jersey on, and was quite obvious in how much i supported Parra. Every other clown in the section watching the footy, was barracking for Newcastle - and taking the piss out of me. I was getting fairly fired up, to say the least. If a decision went against Parra, I would sit there and fume, knowing if I said anything something may start. The bandwagoners were supporting the "underdogs" & giving me plenty.
I quietly moved out, and drove home at 1/2 time, all the time listening to the game on radio & cheering, enjoying myself much more being alone (especially at the end). Even though we lost.
If I cant be at the game this weekend - which I hope to be able to go to - I will definately be at the club or at the stadium, if they do it. I would much rather be around "friends" so that we can share the emotion win or lose. These will be fellow eels supporters, that will have the same passion as me.
If we win, I will shout people, stuff the price. This Sunday, the beers could be $10 a can, and I would still be happy.
