Taylor has a rich history at the club. He was the halfback during Parramatta's record-breaking run to the grand final in 2001 and coached the lower grades before being handed the NRL reins on an interim basis. Despite winning 10 of his 16 matches in charge, he was overlooked for the 2007 season in favour of Michael Hagan.

no he f**king wasn't hagan was already signed up long before taylor took over

He was the best coach available. I wish he had've stayed.

And so did Sharp. It was a good move to try and extend (i.e. renegotiate) his contract.

The only problem with Sticky's signing was the out clause. And that came because we were desperate.

JASON TAYLOR has revealed his desire to coach again in the NRL as he joins a shortlist of candidates for the vacant Parramatta job.
NSW coach Ricky Stuart remains the front-runner for the post, although he is not short of options. He is also in the mix to take over at Canberra if David Furner gets the flick, while the NSWRL is trying to entice him to stay on for the next State of Origin campaign.
interesting that little nugget of info was surfacing over a year ago.

Some more bullshxt:

. Referees boss Anderson set for Parramatta return?
Former Eels chief executive Denis Fitzgerald is working behind the scenes to get referees boss Daniel Anderson to return to Parramatta to replace Ricky Stuart. Stuart's sudden departure has left the Eels in a bind, with no obvious successor. Anderson steered the Eels to the 2009 grand final before being sacked and how the club would like a return to those days now. Anderson is not believed to be enjoying his time as referees boss, with the whistle blowers struggling big time under pressure. The video refs have also come up with a series of howlers this year, adding to the pressure Anderson is under.

This place would be a war zone if Anderson ever returned

He's a Parramatta boy through and through and with a Chairman fully behind him I can't see what the problem is. Daniel will now be able to create a LONG-TERM plan knowing there won't be any scrupulous arse-holes around conniving to undermine him at every turn he makes. The bullshit being dredged up by so many forumites about Daniel "not having a plan when asked" continues to bewilder me. Would any of you be spending weeks burning the candles into the wee hours for weeks on end creating a long-term master plan when you KNOW full well that you most definitely were going to being shafted in the very near future??? Daniel clearly saw the writing on the wall. Go and ask him yourself. And every coach makes mistakes with his decision making. Daniel is no exception either. As the forumites target for their many attacks, it is a load of bullshit to isolate Daniel from all other coaches making it out that they don't make mistakes either. For f**ks sake, since 3P came in it was clear that Daniel was going to be shafted one way or another. At least now, if Daniel becomes our coach again, he will bring all his passion, wit and nous into fore and there it will stay. When it comes to doing the dirty work (make the tough decisions) to rebuild this club Daniel may possibly be more ruthless than Ricky was this year in getting rid of under-performing players, etc. I would love to have Daniel coach and Jason Taylor his assistant. In fact either way would not bother me. We need a coach with a lot of grunt to help shovel our club out of this mess. Also, nothing wrong with Nolan staying on with all the revamped junior infrastructure in toe.

Why would Anderson develop a long term plan here when he's never done it at any other club? He's like Sticky without the premiership (or Kearney without the wooden spoon )

It's easy to be smart in hindsight. I've made mistakes. I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken
