Hopefully he sheds it in this year's series as NSW win back the shield, but that remains to be seen.

I don't believe NSW fate hinges on whether Gallen hits a few around the chops and concedes a couple of penalties. It will hinge on whether on not those responsible for selecting the team decide to go with a three or four decent props instead of the marshmellows they have dished up in recent years. Get some serious go forward to match the QLD rotation and the result will look after itself.

Selecting Leahroyd-Lahrs, Snowden, Mannah and so on is a huge step in the right direction for NSW. The other spot is up for grabs. TLL and Mannah are two of the best young props in the game, and Snowden's 2010 showed he deserves the call-up. Whether it's Luke Douglas or someone else that takes the fourth spot still is questionable (unless there is a glaring ommission I am forgetting).
