He's young and talented, but has no game awareness and doesn't seem to be putting in at times.

Hopefully the coaching staff can find a key to this kid because he could be anything. Or the next Weller Hauraki.

Has plenty of potential so hopefully he's willing to stay on a salary commensurate with his current ability not any potential future ability. Doubt it but.

I think his current value to Parra is around the $150-200k mark. If he can get more than that elsewhere I suggest he takes the money and runs.

He's very much a long-term prospect, with quite a lot of uncertainty as to his ultimate usefulness to an NRL team. Worth keeping if we can do it <$200k for 2016, and progression after that based on games played.

I doubt he would get a start in any other NRL team right now, so a rival club out bidding us would be paying overs based on potential.

Worth the gamble like T-Rex ? The answer to that really should be put to Dessie. Has Dessie got a return on his huge T-Rex investment ? Not really, I'd say.

I don't think his attitude stinks, he was just trying to hard. Plus I think he is better suited to the middle. I would be moving him to prop and tell him run straight and hard and don't worry about the fancy stuff yet, wait until he gets a bit more experienced.

I wouldn't be giving up on him yet, just needs some time

:?

Was he not playing as a prop last night?? Seemed to be operating through the middle to me?

Even Taumalolo, who turns 22 tomorrow was in an out of first grade for a bit due to inconsistency.
I think he is worth persevering with. I also believe we should have locked him up earlier before someone else has a chance to come in with a "pay for potential" offer which we can't and won't match

He has to fix his overall game before he plays the enforcer, he put us on the back foot on several occasions last night.

How much do you pay for potential? The other question is where the coaching staff see him playing. Everything suggests they see him as an edge player. Last night they moved Moeroa to the middle to allow Pauli to play the edge exclusively. Even for Wenty despite being named in the middle he has only played edge. This would suggest the coaching staff don't see him at all as a middle player. If that's the case then I don't see how we retain him. With Mau and Moeroa there, Scott coming in, Edwards coming back and Alaoi moving up. Added Gower can play there also it seems we are overstocked to accomodate him, especially on any decent money.

He still runs a bit too upright for my liking....maybe its innate but he'd be more effective if he got his shoulders a bit lower at times.

We should start our own superleague club.

We are great at producing players that fit in there.

The team would dominate.

Let's face it - if we didn't have injuries, Pauli wouldn't be in our top 17.

He wasnt chosen by Arthur at the start of the season. If we re-sign him it should be for what we're prepared to offer him, and if someone out bids us so be it. Can't pay overs for potential, three years ahead of when the kid will realise how to play and how to use his gifted frame. That type of shit gets us into salary cap strife....

He has the body to play like Klemer. Lacks Klemer ticker however.

You do not write off a guy who is - 20yld. Sure he is not ready right yet.But he is young. He does not seem up to the speed of the NRL that's all. Guys like Jnr only just tasted first grade at this age. Most forwards do not at such a young age.

Today was not one of his best games. But he came on when penrith had the ball and momentum. I reckon he is atleast 2-3 yrs away from being anywhere near his best. He only came back from an injury in rnd 8.Some guys are too harsh on young guys.

I'd persevere with him.

He's only young ffs.

Agree JTS....I think he will develop into a handy player. Has aggression and that is a good thing. Will get better before he gets worse....

Must keep him not worth letting him go and us saying in 2 years why did we let him go when he is tearing it up somewhere else.

Big forwards take 4 or 5 years to develop physically and mentally so he is worth the wait as frustrating as tonight was.

Even Taumalolo, who turns 22 tomorrow was in an out of first grade for a bit due to inconsistency.

This.

Especially when you consider the amount of years of yo-yo form displayed by Taumalolo before he finally found his feet. I think it took him around four years of in and out of 1st grade and he was considered the best young forward in his age group.

Some players just need more time and patience. I hope we give it to him, cos if he comes good, he could turn out to be a real game changing player that can break open any type of defense.

Good call, unless hid phased in as a middle forward to cover the losses of Darcey and possibly Richie...

But then again there's also Peni who's rumoured to have re signed and he can play both middle and edge

I'd re-sign Peni over Pauli. I would have re-signed Kelepi over Pauli too, but I guess he got unlucky with when his contract was up for renewal (in the midst of our salary ca3p mess).

Up for renewal? He was contracted for this year. We chose to let him go because he's not the sort of player Arthur wants - not smart/skillful enough for the edges and doesn't work hard enough for the middle. He doesn't fit into our STRUCTURE (because I know that word kills you).
