Well if we get dykes a hole running fullback would be good, after all we do want to win the comp.So maybe we should trust raper.

LEts not have a huge ant-peach/traitor,/money grabber backlash when he leaves eh ? its not fair and not right , he is a broken man, like players before him who have been forced from the club in past 2 seasons.

I don't think there's much or any chance of that happening Beeker. The people know who's to blame with this one and hopefully they will remember it.

I wonder who the board wil blamenow with no Ando here?

Whatever happens with peach over the next few days, I think we should all remember this.....

Why should we expect a player like HIM to show any loyalty to the board and club as a whole after they made it clear to him he had no future here ?

It has happened too many times in the past few years to too many good clubmen and loyal servants of the club.

Just to refute this nonsense, the board are in complete unison on retaining Peachey. They are frustrated by the football committee , coach & CEO.

The fish rots from the head, Reefy.

I don't CARE where the problems rest at the club, I don't CARE if the board wants him and the coach doesn't, and I don't CARE if the CEO wants to go the knuckle on one of the coaching staff.

FACT is this mate: Our club MANAGEMENT, at all levels, is in disarray.

Board, Football club, Coaching, Marketing, you name it.

Board - Bunch of nepotistic 'old boys'

Football Club - Navel Gazing

Coaching - Mid-season departure of key staffers. If it looks like a rat, and smells like a rat...

Marketing - I don't need to say anything more here other than 'Scott Longmuir'.

It's appalling.

The only blokes who are giving us anything to be proud of right now are the 30-odd blokes who make up the core of our playing roster.

But of course mate, it's not the board's fault. They are just being frustrated by these idiots that they employed...How the HELL do you come up with that logic?

Sweet Reefy, can you tell me who is on the football committee mate ?

And are you saying that sludge and raper do not want peach at the club ?

Also, if you would be so kind as the READ what I post before making short rebutals like your last post , that would be peachey ( excuse the pun), as I said the board and the club as a whole have shown peachey he has no future here......that WOULD include footy staff and and committee s too wouldnt it ?

Cheers big guy.

They were behind Ando as well.

Sounds exactly like what I would expect from our board. Do the damage then pass the buck.

I can't "come clean" reefy because I don't know. But you seem to have a pretty good idea from your implications , so which is it ?

I just know that he is greatly upset and disillusioned by his treatment from the club. Now, if the board want him to stay, but he doesnt feel they want him, then you read between the lines mate

" we love peach, we want him to stay, he is a great of our club....offer him $60,000 over a one year deal"

"but, he was a 2 year deal for $150,000 !? "

" Like I said, offer him one year at $60,000"

" but he will feel like we are squezing him out"

" well, If David wants to be disloyal and chase the buck, then somlong I say"

Peach should take a one year deal, I dont know why he is so keen for a 2 year deal, but the money should be fair

For Raper to get up last night and go on about how bad the team is missing Peach but then the club only offers him what sounds like a piss weak deal, well it's hypocritical and silly IMO.

If Peachey goes then I'll only be attending Sharks games at Oly Park. No more flying up then driving to Newcastle or going to Shark Park for other matches. If I'm in a bad mood when a possible announcement of Peach leaving comes I'll probably end up burning my jersey as well.

Now before someone comes and bites my head off for overreacting and the old 'no player is bigger than the club' mantra, let's face it. I'm sick of the ineptitude that the board perpetuates at the club. Just look at the floundering of the redevelopment plans for one example. If Peach isn't retained then its the final straw as far as I'm concerned.

Fair money for a one year contract seems a fair compromise to this stalemate

If the Sharks are only half keen for him in 2005, I dont think he should be putting his foot down for 2006...he might end his career in premier league!!

It is not always about the money.
How one is treated by one's employer is a factor always.
Role in the team is also a telling factor - ask Tahu.
My gut feeling is Raper wants a very quick structured hole running fullback, rather than pop up anywhere ball playing one gap creating one.

I agree with that................

To be fair to the Club, Peachey has not set the world on fire in the last couple of seasons.

Or maybe he's just sending a public message he wants him.

I heard today that Peachey has a new girlfriend.
And she's from ... wait for it ... NEW ZEALAND.
