Bunnies fans are particularly feral.
Some of them are OK, others are a tad puzzling.

EDIT: As far as Bennett is concerned in regards to us protecting our most important player, he only has to look at what happened to his side the last time they tried to unsettle us. We ended up wiping the floor with them.

I went in there just for a friendly chat a few weeks ago. Was surprise how inflammatory the feeling was within that lot towards another sporting side. A lot of Dutch courage.

The old 'no teeth' brigade have a level of entitlement unknown to us out here in the riff.

Perhaps they're a bit worried and are delflecting as a result.

It will be one heck of a game. Souths are concerned I read somewhere that the 'teethless ones' haven't beaten either Melbourne or Penrith in over 800 days.

That will count for nothing 'the teethless ones' are prepared to do anything to stop Penrith.......It's going to be rough and tough. .

Bennett is up to his usual tricks again with the NRL. The 'teethless ones' don't cope with being beaten,,,,,,,Look at their forum for evidence of this.

Am I confident No. I'm never confident. It will be one heck of a game. I'm expecting some of the 'teethless' to atempt a maining of Nathan and perhaps Brian.

When we're getting accused of bending the rules we are doing our job. You don't win by not pushing the boundaries.

Cleary having time to put great kicks in is not just a result of illegal blocking though its the fact that we are the fittest and strongest team in the comp that inevitably pushes over the advantage line, wins the ruck and plays the ball quickly. Beat us there and illegal blockers will not be in position. That's what I'd be worrying about if I was Souths.

Are we illegally doing that?

I just watched a replay of our 25/12 win. Souths were penalised 5 times for illegal tackles. Just grind them into the turf. Also the warmer conditions in Townsville should suit us.

The media reports about Ivan saying this and Wayne saying that are just column fillers. Just the usual paper talk.

The bunnies will attempt to put a lot of pressure on Nathan as we will on Reynolds. Both sides will have to avoid late or unnecessary contacts which could result in set restarts, penalties or sin bins.

I expect this game to be a really hard fought contest and I don’t think it will be a blowout either way.

I think the main reason is that most of their fans are those that like to associate with winners. When I was a 5 year old in Cambridge park, all the other kids were going for either Saints or the Rabbitohs because they were the winning teams at that time (1966). Unlike us Panthers fans, they can't handle the arid times. I went for Panthers because I knew that they were the local team (or were about to be).

The kids of that era or generation tended to follow in there parents footsteps.

If you look at our success in recent times we now have a current generation of mums and dads who are Panthers and there kids will largely follow in there footsteps.

As someone on here pointed out prior to this most recent lockdown, a big crowd at home where almost everyone was wearing one of our jerseys. It is so great to see. A new purpose built 25,000 all seater stadium I would love to see in my lifetime the club and it’s growing fan base deserve it.

I liked how bennet said if we do it again there will be consequences. Like what? None of the rabbits are scary except for maybe Murry.
I get it now; Manu must have illegally blocked Mitchell trying to get to a kicker. Makes sense now; rescind his suspension.

There is always a reason why Bennett’s team aren’t the instigators…

Consequences? If the NRL take that on face value, that is a direct threat. Boy our players are going to be fired up for this one. Controlled aggression of course, but make them pay for the rubbish Bunnett has been moaning about.
