tbf it does help if you are based in a region that has the highest participation rates in the world. But good on Panthers for finally waking up to that fact and investing in better elite development programs to take advantage of it. It’s certainly paying off for them, and other clubs.

Ahh but it’s not stacked of players from Penrith region , they have many from country areas . There was article through the week showing where all the players were from . A fair number of the Penrith squad are actually from country areas . They go seeking these players , whereas other Clubs which I won’t name go looking through other clubs juniors poach them and try say they develop players

Edwards, Staines, Martin, Yeo, & if you count country NZ JFH make up more than 13%. Throw in Burton from last years squad as well just for fun. I know the squad is 30 which doesn't explain your numbers, but top 17 is more relevant imo. There are quite a few QLD kids in the system as well.

Sure, we obviously have plenty of talent on the doorstep, but the fact we cast the net far and wide to select players no one has ever heard of speaks volumes. The faster other clubs start doing the same instead of raiding other clubs jnr rep squads the stronger the game will become.

First team squad is 30 FT players and up to 6 development players. Sure if you want to talk about the world as your oyster lol.
As it is 13% of your first team squad are from regional nsw. Not sure how that compares with other Sydney clubs, probably nothing special
