Luai has been a non event since Origin. Hopefully he gets his mojo back soon, him firing with Burton outside him is a huge boost. I think we might be timing the run a bit better this year, mostly forced through injury, but it may work out as a blessing.

The winner gets a week off and then a likely soft prelim opponent. The loser plays the next week then has the Storm in the prelim. The loser v Storm prelim will be much tougher, so the winner of the Souths v Riff qualifier will be in better shape in the big dance.

Therefore a fair comparison would be the last 50 years 1970 to 2020 (as the 2021 GF has not yet occurred).

....and overall the most successful club of the last 50 years is Manly Warringah with 8 premierships and Easts, Canterbury and Brisbane equal second with 6.

That's 51 years old mate, although Souths did not field a team for 2 seasons its a safe bet they weren't winning much in those years. In the past 50, 1971 to 2020, it is 2-all. Unless one of them win this year, it will be 2-1 our way after October.
