He probably does have scars. Most league players do due to the hits, bumps, bruises and injuries they sustain during the course of their careers.

Whether he may be scared or not? I'd have no idea as I don't know him.

He's improving every season through hard work and learning from his previous mistakes. The only thing that will hurt him this year is his busted shoulder. He falls or tackles someone the wrong way and it's season over. There's no way his shoulder won't be tested every week by opposition forwards either.
