Interestingly so far the fan split on social media, merch purchasing etc has been 80-20 perth to east coast. If we are going to be amongst the biggest clubs we are going to need more of those 220k NS fans to get on board.
Seriously? After everything you’ve pushed on this.

De Ceglie said on the Bears podcast a month ago that it’s his preference the first game is played at HBF…wants the season ticket holders to be able to see it from their regular seat …for what that’s worth I guess
It may help the fan base create ownership over the venue as theirs. However the game should be played at Optus.

They should get the Scorchers, Wildcats, Dockers & WC Eagles involved and try to engage their fan bases with $15 tickets for anyone who holds a season ticket pass for one of those teams etc.

Hard to justify that "80-20 split" when you consider the heritage demographic on the East Coast. Legacy fans aren't padding new data because they already have their demands met with a 118-year head start supporting North Sydney. For them it's more of a reinstatement than an expansion. They are supporting a return and are perfectly content wearing vintage red and black that doesn't feature the new branding.

Plus with retro apparel currently more on trend than ever, many supporters are opting for that classic style at the moment anyway. Norths retro jerseys have already had three recent restocks along with a fourth that dropped in December. There is no right or wrong, the WA market is naturally excited for a new product, while the East Coast is simply resuming a lifelong fandom.

You and I can have our opinions…. But De Ceglie is gunna be part of the decision making group on the issue ….. although there is still plenty of time for him to change his mind

On what evidence?
Evidence will be provided when the club starts their first season.

but taking sponsorship for example, by reports, they’re on track to have the most “expensive jersey in the game” (for a lack of a better way of putting it) in their first season.

So they will generate the third highest revenue, memberships, etc in their first year?

I wasn't trying to put Perth down as I think they should be in the comp. Just find it extraordinary that they will be the third biggest club and they haven't kicked a ball yet.

I suppose it comes down to what your criteria is for being "the biggest" and what weight you put on each of the criteria.

He said within 10 years … it’s an ambitious statement no doubt … and also far enough away not to mean much now and the people talking it up at the moment will be likely long gone by then …

I think position 5 or 6 wouldn’t be a stretch personally ….
