So much of that song, lyrics wise, reminds me of Mt Panorama. My 1978 UC Torana was christened 'Brocky' be me when I got it, may his spirit live on.

RIP Brocky, was probably one of my favourite sportstars and idols. I've supported him as far back as I can remember and have had this painting of him in his A9X torana since I was a little fella. He's a great racer and top bloke and Idon't think we'll see any more racers or indeed sportstars that will be as true to their fans as he was, a true people's champion. Thanks for the memories and hopefully we can get a Holden Bathurst and V8 Supercar champion for him this year.

I went and paid my respects while in Melbourne last week at the state funeral, I took some piccies of the crowd that gathered around St Pauls and in Federation Square to watch the service on the big screen:

I went up on the mount on the day of his state funeral....some of the most poignent moments ive ever experienced....up the top of the mountain, their are condolence messages written all over the protective barriers, flowers all over the wire railings...i was speaking to a council worker who was up there doing preparations for the race this year, and they are going to move the flowers, but they aren't going to paint over the condolence messages, they are going to leave them there as a tribute to the great man.
