He was my neighbour in Bondi when i lived there in the 1990's..

He was quiet & kept to himself..

The police came to our house to question my girl & i about reports he was hitting kids with cricket bats..We'd knew nothing, but apparently he got pinched for it later..Seemed out of character to me..

He always remembered my girls birthday (sometimes jolting my memory in the process) so i always thought he was a pretty good guy..

RIP Pete..

Sounds very dodgy but I loved his commentary for the ABC. Probably my favourite commentator really so RIP Peter.

Loved his work behind the keyboard and the mike. Even when he was sprouting rubbish it was worth listening to. Vale.

Great writer and commentator. But clearly a man with some issues - this is going to get ugly quickly:

- cared for young african students - lived in his home
- roebuck distressed at 10PM
- police visit and take personal items
- Roebuck dead

Some of his comments came through as extremely insightful, but in the next breath he could come across as incredibly unworldly. I did enjoy his work on Grandstand overall though.

The whole thing sounds very sus. I hoping it was a heart attack, but I doubt it.

This is absolutely tragic news for the world of cricket.

One of the most brilliant and insightful figures who did not care whose feathers he ruffled has gone decades too soon.

His fantastic articles online and in the print media and poignant radio commentary will be missed by myself and countless others.

Truly a sad day for cricket everywhere.
