True to an extent but fumbleball players have given a fair degree of concessions. They don’t have free agency for one and that is a really significant concession above and beyond anything that Rugby league players have done.

If the RLPA want these things then they have to give some concessions whether that be in the form of transfer window or something similar or a reduced cap. That’s the whole point of a negotiation.

NRL also needs to follow WADA protocols for things like drugs, So not sure players should be part of that. They need allow leeway or it will stay in this stalemate

In certain aspect some of the RLPA demands are not just mirroring those of the AFLPA, but also the NFLPA and the NBAPA. In both US sports, when their respective CBAs were being re-negotiated tghe respective player associations had great distrust over the revenue projections for the NFL and the NBA respectively and wanted access to the books to ensure money was not being hidden.

In relation to scheduling, and rules changes, I do believe the RLPA do have a point in that the players should be consulted. At the end of the day it is them putting their bodies on the line, not V'Landys, Abdo, Solly, Fletcher, Rusty, Politis nor any other administrator/coach/official.

The

last agreement was 130% it wasn’t set in stone forever more, just for the 2017 5 year agreement.
Besides 130% of 11.5mill is only 14.95mill. What they are asking for is 144% of a 11.5mill cap!

apparently they are now all profitable so why do they need another $1.5mill over what they’ve been getting last 2 years? That’s $25mill that could be used to grow the game Or increase participation.

has there been any word yet if the arlc are going to put back the missing community, development and state funding they
Slashed to realise last years profit?
Like Storm80 said, perhaps if clubs and RLPA trusted the NRL to do business smartly and grow the game they wouldn't demand so much.... surely you of all people can understand that lol

Reduced cap and salary during the Covid years not enough?

The botched renegotiations with nine and Foxtel costing the players millions not enough?

As for the proposed transfer window, what are the NRL offering the players in return for changing the current rules?

Will the players obtain more money by accepting the terms of the proposed transfer windows?

From what I can tell NRL aren’t offering any incentive to players to want to amend the current transfer scheme.

It’s clearly in the players best interests to be able to negotiate future deals asap so they can plan their life for the next 5 or more years.

So what’s the sweetener for players to agree to new transfer rules?
V'landys set himself up for a revolt when he put the interests of News Ltd ahead of the game.

Interesting thing is with more and more clubs being owned by private owners or investment groups then I'm sure they'd all like their clubs to be more profitable so their personal bank balances grow.
NRL should not be increasing the grant any further without placing some kpi's on the extra funding use.
Clubs are now profitable on the grant they get. Why should the NRL take money from other areas of the games development just to increase clubs profits further?

Master coach Wayne Bennett has slammed the NRL clubs reportedly considering forming a rebel league as the financial stand-off with the governing body reaches breaking point.

NRL CEO Andrew Abdo and ARLC chairman Peter V’landys have cancelled their trip to the UK for the World Cup final to put an end to the mess according to News Corp.
Clubs have grown increasingly frustrated over the fact that the salary cap has not been settled for next season, nor has the collective bargaining agreement or the club funding agreement.

Next season’s draw is also yet to be finalised, but Bennett, who has returned to the NRL after 12 months out of the game, has labelled suggestions clubs could break away as “rubbish”.
