Considering there hasn't been any extra content (games) created yet, I think being able to expand without any financial burden is a pretty good achievement.
Not sure what you mean? tv is getting 12 extra games from next season when the tv deal starts and the new club comes in.

Reportedly Fox covered the start up costs too, In the unknown TV deal. That poster will only post anything to do with RL as a negative

Just Australian rugby league

he talks well about super duper league and his little club

$640m revenue given the state of the game 20 years ago is huge, Yet some on here will see negative.

The game has a long way to go, Still has issues but is fast becoming an elite organisation

Before the apologists get too giddy at pistol Pete’s achievement in revenue growth. in comparison to other immediate pre and post tv deal years:

2013 68% revenue growth
2018 40% revenue growth
2023 16% (projected revenue growth)

like others have said some people are happy with mediocrity.

Exponential growth is unrealistic. The 68% growth from 2012 to 2013 reflects a more mature broadcast deal as a result of News leaving the NRL partnership. That was never going to happen again.

2018 came off the back of a new TV deal.

Relative to your friends at the AFL though....(2022, 2023 predicted revenue) the trend is pretty good, the gap closes a little but more - last year was the closest its ever been - probably the closest it will be until 2028 when the next NRL deal is done, unless Vlandys can convince broadcasters to come to the party in 2025.

Not correct, its your assumptions that every poster here is either pro expansionist or pro nswrl, i don't think that most posters here are either or, but most are both... you're the only one that seeks rationalization over expansion
For a guy who hates the Broncos so much, it's funny how some of his views on expanding the game sound like they came straight out of the John Ribot playbook...

Do you think a revenue growth of 40% each deal is a realistic goal?

Each round will still only have 8 games maximum however (right?).

When team 18 comes on board (which should be sooner rather than later), it jumps to 9 games, and for mine, when we can be asking for even more $

I guess it all depends on how it goes with expansion, Team 18 will rightfully need a new deal.
The flip side is no doubt the Magic Round will increase revenue on the AFL side of things. Good trend regardless

Good question. On media revenue alone it would have meant a jump from $380mill to $532mill. I guess as we didn’t go to open market and didn’t have the ninth game ready to sell we’ll never really know. afl acheived a jump from $416 to around $585ish without any real extra value add to sell so who knows?
At least 25-30% should have been achievable Imo with a better negotiator At the wheel.

I expect non broadcast income to keep rising materially every year

this is the area they have hit it out of the park
