For those who don’t know the Quest is located right on top of shark park. I stayed there one night last year and it’s a top hotel. I wondered why the NRL purchased it tbh. If they are purchasing shark park wholly or partly (a big if) then it now makes sense.

heya vlados. could what red bears said be relevant here? maybe sharkies own the land that quest hotel was built on. nrl bought quest hotel off quest and then maybe bought the actual land that quest sits on off sharkies? unless quest owned the land too.

Doubt it’s leasehold that’s usually for crown land (railways etc) I doubt Cronulla sold their land as leasehold it’s a bugger of a way to buy a unit

You can't see that the NRL owning a Hotel right on top of the ground they own isn't a positive?
And that the NRL would play select games at their "home" ground and thus use both assets for their own gain?
Not to mention that any Govt will bend over for them to upgrade the place.

i was referring specifically about the stadium. What selected games are you referring to? Surely there wouldn’t be any benefit of playing select first grade games there?

If the Sharks can not make money out off Shark Park! How and why would the Nrl make money out of Shark Park? Very bad investment for the Nrl . 16 other clubs would never agree to such a investment.

Hard to know tbh. Its proximity to the ground is like right on top of it. Beautiful hotel. They gave me a free beer.

yeah true. optically it would look like nrl bought quest and thats it. if the land was sharkies due to how close it is to footy field and i reckon it wouldve been sharkies land once upon a time regardless then no one would bat an eye lid. it would look like nrl bought quest and no one would look deeper into that they also bought the land asset. i know its a reach but makes sense with all the cryptic stuff.

how was the beer? what was it? tooheys? xxxx? vb? or something craft?

Could be sub folio where different owners have a share. I don't anything about sharks.

Tooheys. I drank craft after that. Was a messy night. Too much going on at home to really enjoy it. I’ll get back this year and do it properly
