Not sure that's much an advantage over other sports.

Jojo Fifita said it why he chose RL over RU.

To someone mid career I wouldn't.

Someone starting out can finish school with friends etc.

older guys can choose what schools for their kids and stuff.

That stuff matters or the NRLPA wouldn't be so against changes to players movement

So it's good for prople in those cities but how does t give us advantage over other sports?

so its not free after all. Ok that fact check done.

The only reason the LC has now stepped in to reduce costs is apparently because the govt has changed its voucher scheme and made it means tested.
Question remains
1. why doesnt NRL cover jnr rego fees, it can afford it.
2. Why dont all LC's which makes sht load of money on the back of supposedly existing for local RL cover full jnr rego fees
3. Would free rego for kids increase participation? Worth a 3 year trial Id have thought.
While we have regional clubs with LC backing eg Wyong, The Entrance, Erina

You have the rest with no LC about 8 clubs

I dont know if the CC LC helps these clubs, or the Roosters who pump money into the CC but I suspect that is only for junior reps to wear a Roosters logo & jersey rather than the CC sky blue & gold or to pay the NRL to run school clinics in Roosters colours

1. what sport is making $50mill surpluses each year?
2. It would seem most don't. Only one I've found so far that covers full fee is Canterbury.
3. if you dont try you'll never know. They could run a pilot in an area and see if it made a difference. Free rego and improved registration marketing and increased DO school attendance in that region. Do it for 2 years and see if it increases numbers. Its called research!
You fecking whinger. Nothing is ever enough for you you big turd.

What sort of moron spends their life trawling through club reports just to find something else to complain about? We’ve got a genuinely sick puppy here.

Its all over the place! Some NRL Clubs are doing stuff, Some LC's are doing stuff at very different levels, state bodies are doing stuff and NRL is directly doing stuff. Its a mess with zero level of consistency across the country.

Well at least it gives you something else to complain about.

For those looking for positive news about player registrations all the signs are we will easily exceed last years registrations across the country. Given there was a good increase last year as well the Vlandys administration is kicking more goals!

Yes that is amazing news

Rugby League is the No 1 participation sport in Australia now.

The V Landys years have been extraordinarily successful.

Hold on a minute.

Hasn't Perth Red argued for years that Perth needs a team so local RL players don't need to relocate to Brisbane and Sydney to play in the NRL?

Now he's saying that kids from Newcastle have to relocate to Sydney to have a career in the NRL?

So while the model for Wyong or The Entrance is fine

What the correct model for clubs like Ourimbah, ie a country club without a LC backing?

After the $100 kids sporting voucher

And a startup club has different needs than a established club too

What's this voucher bullshit anyway? Is that some NSW thing? I've never seen it in other states.

That is why I think the clubs not the actual player needs the funding.

The game can't fix teenagers having other priorities but they can ensure those who can and want to play. Have access to a club to do so
