yeah it's just Brisbane's version of Campbelltown or Penrith. Old mining town, some amazing old houses but AFL is no threat there.
Hasnt AFL already gone in there and had tens of millions spent on a stadium they will never use?

RL needs to drop the "working/dero class only" tag it seems to be proud of.
Meant more it’s Asian and Indian migrants and the latter love cricket

Hardly see many at league games

That working class thing doesn’t really apply anymore it’s just some people who go to private school think they are elite for supporting union

If Liverpool stadium gets up Campbelltown just becomes a satellite city for rugby league.

They have littered the country with these sorts of grounds. I suppose the RL equivalent is all the money wasted on “centres of excellence” which actually serve less of a purpose to the community.
Governments and LGAs pay for a lot of the training centres. Having 40 highly paid players training, plus another 200 - 250 staff working in the area is good business.

The NRL should pull future state of origins from Perth unless they build a decent rectangular stadium. S-O-O should not be played on an oval where those side seats are 25 metres back from the action. WA wants big soccer / League / games etc they should stop blowing so much money on ovals and start spending on a decent rectangle.

lol, nrl SELL origin to perth. They dont give a sht what stadium it’s in as long as they get a big wad of cash.the trick at optus is to be in the corners, seats are no worse than a rectangular stadium in those sections.

Totally agree. The “interest” union supporters have in their game is in many cases just a fashion accessory applied before attending dinner parties on the north shore and eastern suburbs. The ones wearing Wallaby jerseys while skimming their pools . Or the Mosman residents
demonstrating against noisy pool filters.

The same people whose “social conscience” is also nothing but a fashion accessory . Like some journalists who manage to find time to write about social injustice and world poverty in between sipping champagne in the multimillion dollar mansions and hobnobbing on the Amalfi Coast.

I realise the NRL sells games to Perth - I am saying they need to stop with the sugar fix of cash and be more strategic and long term and tell Perth to GFTs until they pay up and build a decent 40k seat rectangular stadium. What sort of a half witted major city doesn't have a decent rectangular stadium.
Just leave them out of the equation.
If sitting in the corners is the way to get a decent view then it really isnt close to good enough.

How many Australian cities have a 40k rectangular stadium? Two lol

no ones building a 40k stadium at $800mill+ to host origin every three years, and locking out 20k fans in the process.

the only major cities that don't have one are Melbourne and Perth. Adelaide is a big town. Auckland, Sydney, Brisbane and every major city in the western world has one.

So out of the whole country there’s only two? Righto.
Yep let’s pss away $800mill+ for a game every 3 years that could draw 20k more fans at the existing stadium. You should go into politics :)
