Will be interesting to see how the media handle the Alir Alir incident (Swan’s supporter throwing a cardboard clapper in his direction). Will probably take the tack that he played for the Swans before he switched to Port Adelaide).

So does anyone know when the Vatican elect a new head of rugbah league?
And the reason appears as to why Saint Pete so recently announced he is stepping away from his second job.

Coincidence ? I think not !

Just in case, we need to prepare for the possibility of a new pontificate.

Can anyone help ? Bunnings just wont cut it. We will need a chapel, a shed load of copper for the chimney, and those chemicals that make the smoke either white or black.
Ahead of the game I was with this call in post 8681.

:p

Made a lot of enemies in racing especially in Victoria

Took the nsw racing accusation from 28 million in revenue to 400 million ten years later
It's NSW where he is pissed off people.

None other than Gai Waterhouse counts him as an enemy.

And the ABC expose on how he controls the media via "bribery" is everything we hate about the AFL head honchos

It's old money crying about an upstart pauper telling them how it's gonna go. Gai would keep the racecourse for nostalgia rather than build 25k homes during a housing crisis. Nah, I'll take the bloke who came from nothing and turned NSW racing into an empire and has Rugby League in the best health it's ever been over nepo babies thanks.

Five billion dollars they can build a hundred racecourses elsewhere and still have billions in reserve

Within ten or so year he basically increased their revenue by a factor of ten

He kept racing going during covid when everyone told him to shut down

And soon he will be in rugby league full time

He put racing nsw on the map

There we go!
Didn't know when it was coming, but I knew it was coming. Cook giving PVL / NRL stick in the media and PVL not responding (very unlike him).

Good on them. Newcastle will always be my #1, but WA will be my #2 team.
Can't wait to see NRL here in Perth every 2nd week one again. The mid-to-late 90s feel so long ago, but I remember them well.

I don’t agree with everything he has done (suburban grounds, 6again) but he has done more than the previous 4 or 5 CEO / chairman combined all of them didn’t even seem like RL fans.
