“Record revenue: Total revenue was a new record of $845.6 million having increased by $100.7 million compared to the prior year. Revenue has now increased by $454.2 million or 116% since 2016. “

Fumblers needed a new tv deal to get a significant revenue bump

Tonga / Samoa game would’ve been worth a lot to the arl

“In 2025 Rugby League also broke viewership records in Australia and New Zealand with 224.2 million viewers across the entire season, up 9.5% on the prior year and up by 87.5 million or 64% compared to 2019, when it was 136.7 million cumulative viewers.”

Absolutely smashed the afl numbers close to double lmao

It was only a few weeks ago there was rumours coming out of the NRL that revenue was going to be about the $770m mark, what I thought was a very disappointing increase on 2024, turns out it`s $845m.

Could we be seeing a deliberate understating of the broadcast deal by the NRL with some of PVL`s ambiguous messaging lately.

Sure makes for greater impact when the real figure comes in, I`m absolutely blown-away by today`s number, happy days indeed. 🥳🥳🥳

Imagine all the fumblers seeing these figures and the panic that ensues

Never thought Pvl would get league to the number one spot so fast thought it would take ages

Majority of that funding increase is govt funding for PNG and Perth.

Nah

What funding has nrl received for Perth now ?

Tonga v Samoa would’ve been close to ten million in revenue on its own between gate and corporate

Broncos finals run wouldn’t hurt either

They could also enter into a "feeder club"arrangement with a Qld side.

That said, due to the linkage with North Sydney, odds on they'll have a NSW Cup team at the least.
We have, with easts.
can’t see us running a team in nsw or qrl cup until we have enough west aussie players to justify having a home based one, or we have an nrl reserve grade. How the logistics of having our non starting first team players playing in Sydney and brisbane reserve grade sides will work I have no idea.

Show your maths … have they paid anything for Perth yet?
Funding increases
$10 mill media, merch and betting
$84mill licensing which includes govt funding for the two new clubs.

its well reported govt has paid a motza already to nrl to get things moving in png for jnr development and schools programs, chiefs start up, and $29mill of $60mill distributed to current nrl clubs.
WA has paid nrl for start up costs of perth and funding for jnr development has begun flowing. Probably around $15mill of the $65.6mill committed.

none yet. the WA gov hasn't put any money towards the nrlwa or wa rl pathways yet. their first sum is scheduled to come in 2026 as per their own statement on their official page... so it wouldn't show in the 2025 report.
@Red&BlackBear can ya confirm this is true?

perth wrongs ding, dong
