its well reported govt has paid a motza already to nrl to get things moving in png for jnr development and schools programs, chiefs start up, and $29mill of $60mill distributed to current nrl clubs.
WA has paid nrl for start up costs of perth and funding for jnr development has begun flowing. Probably around $15mill of the $65.6mill committed.

none yet. the WA gov hasn't put any money towards the nrlwa or wa rl pathways yet. their first sum is scheduled to come in 2026 as per their own statement on their official page... so it wouldn't show in the 2025 report.

They’ve put some, but not much yet. Things like the WACA office upgrades were already occurring regardless - it’s separate from the Bears and chance brought it in.

Some money has gone into the training fields and it’s been a limited amount into the pathways - it’s this year (2026) where we will see a significant flow.

None of those figures would be really showing up significantly on the 2025 report. They will for the 2026 report though.

Things like initial club set up etc - NRL paid for that (club grant..) so in actuality it’s currently a negative, not a positive.

Whilst the nrl would show start up costs as an expense as they own the club, it will also show in operations revenue the funding the wa govt is paying them for start up (around $19mill) how much of that has been paid so far is speculative but if nrl has any sense, and when it comes to money they do have, they’ll have got some upfront, the clubs already got operational costs.

as for jnr funding jobs are already being filled in wa and school program work commenced so that is also costing now.

But then there was also international revenue in same line in 2024 from the pacific cup so you’d need to know the difference to know how much of the $84mill increase is due to those events bringing in more than the 2024 events. What we do know is a significant amount of revenue in that line is accountable to aus govt png grant, and some to Wa, govt grant For Perth.

They did but it’s as a loss due to it being an extra portioned club grant for an extra club (in the time frame of an exisiting broadcast deal that hadn’t factored in club 18 when it was made).

Therefore it’s not a positive yet, in fact it won’t be a positive until the new TV deal kicks in 2028. That first year gain (of the new broadcast deal) will more than make up for 2.5 years of losses.
