Very true, and good to see. They got there eventually! All good things come to those who wait lolEven if I that is true ( which is doubtful) so ? They have expanded and reaped a benefit

sorry didnt realise you worked for wa treasury!Unless, unless, unless…
Mate they haven’t for 2025, it’s nothing worth noting. That’ll be tracked in the 2026 report.
It fathoms the mind how often you try to argue with me and ultimately lose the argument. Learn some humility, you’re a 50 year old for Pete’s sake. Smarten up mate.
There used to be a time when someone went OS you got to have a break from them.how may of you had? Your misinformation now is even worse than usual
Cant they do that now? I mean its not like the NRL isn't the most watched sport in PNG.Can't wait till they start throwing in PNG viewership in those figures. Going to go off the planet compared to AFL.
PVL was mentioning some figures on the HSP ep. the rise of digital will probably help with tracing unique streamsCant they do that now? I mean its not like the NRL isn't the most watched sport in PNG.
I would assume there is no actual TV ratings measurement in PNG, first world problems and all that.
Pm13 v png game from a few years ago got just over a million watchingPVL was mentioning some figures on the HSP ep. the rise of digital will probably help with tracing unique streams
Majority of that funding increase is govt funding for PNG and Perth.
or the biggest magic round round ever. forget the qld gov fund, how about tickets and how about revenue made from the nrl owned hotels as part of the overall event itself. ditto nrlw magic round & nrlw origin which was biggest ever.
Imagine all the fumblers seeing these figures and the panic that ensues
Never thought Pvl would get league to the number one spot so fast thought it would take ages

I think you've answered your own point with the AFL new TV deal commencing. If the NRL increase their TV deal to the numbers floated, there's probably a fair argument that the codes will be neck and neck by 2028.Im not entirely sure anyone in AFL circles is panicking.

The 358m gap is the largest ever between the two governing bodies - this is in part due to a new tv deal commencing. NRL revenue as a % of AFL revenue dropped from 72% to 70% as a result. Since 2014, the AFL has outearned the NRL by $3.156 billion - about 48% of the NRLs total 6.476b over the period.

Perhaps, I really struggle to see where the big growth is for AFL going forward - have they maxed out? They are a massive sport in Australia, but its strength of uniqueness and tribalism is also its weakness. For one, they play on cricket ground size fields - a packed MCG becomes a Colosseum but must-see games outside Australia just can't be replicated.Oh I think theres a fair chance the NRL will be ahead in 2028.

That`s a big call Wookie, so soon ? it`s not as if the fumbles are going backwards so it would take a massive acceleration in NRL revenue growth even if our broadcast deal does jump substantially, what`s your reasoning ?Oh I think theres a fair chance the NRL will be ahead in 2028.
Not quite. Looks like the gap in 2023 was $362m. So maybe one day the NRL will pass the AFL’s revenue.Im not entirely sure anyone in AFL circles is panicking.

The new nrl tv deal will wipe out that gap for the first time everIm not entirely sure anyone in AFL circles is panicking.

Crowds are tinyI dont know much about NSW and QLD comp these days but what is the future for both of them...what crowds do they get and are they a reserve/devolopment or tier 2 from the NRL.
Do you think the NRL could make them both comps bigger as in more spectators/tv viewers in like say the NHL in North America with tier 2 AHL and tier 3 ECHL ?Crowds are tiny
Yeh reserve grade for most nrl clubs or where no nrl clubs exists (mainly qld) development clubs
Many have their own leagues clubs too
Dolphins were the best example.
Easts tigers and Ipswich jets are the two training ones that could be involved in the nrl going forward
That makes for interesting reading. I wonder what that graph would look like if you added separate data points for profit, assets and brand value series? (That’s a genuine question, I haven’t a clue what that data would tell us). Is that something you can do?Im not entirely sure anyone in AFL circles is panicking.
