Love to see a stat of match agreggate average 2026 v 2025

We had a 35% increase in 6 agains

Only Vegas games were low due to the narrow field

I still see a lot of flops etc that aren't getting called. Defenses were getting away with a huge amount of slow down tactics for many years.

I thought last nights game was really entertaining.🤷‍♂️

High quality defensive games I think are the best you can get.

But if you have errors and ill-discipline, I'll take tries over no tries. Imagine all those errors and set restarts in a game with a 6-4 scoreline? We are talking Titans v Tigers 2022 stuff here. The absolute toilet of Rugby League.

When did the whole game become about "the ruck"?
Coaches became obsessed with them at some point. The fact is they hold minimal interest to everyone else (except that we have become aware of their importance) and it seems like they should not be where games are won and lost.
Get retired player and coaches into talk about the above and discuss solutions.

We want attack on top not defense because good defense is now about "parking the bus" and tackles are ugly now - hands everywhere and slightly dodgy tactics in each tackle that fans cannot be bothered trying to understand.
Attack that is based on a lot of passing - ball movement is the best you can get.

Pvl focuses on ruck speed as a measure of quality of play

Yes - because if you have a slow ruck speed you have defense on top and ugly tackles full of loitering, leg pulls and 4 in the tackle area etc, etc. If you have fast play the balls you have a clean ruck area that fans understand and attack is on top and there is more fatigue, line breaks, passing, cool cover defense, intercepts etc.

Of course you want good attack but a low scoring contest is the best outcome.

All my favourite football games were 3-4 tries max. They had excellent attacking football as well however the defence stood up everytime with amazing scramble. Good defence doesn't nescesarily create a dour contest.
