Peter Wallace is going to get even better.

With Bennet coaching him at club level, and training with Darren Lockyer, he improved a lot from the kid that left Penrith.
With Bellamy coaching him at rep level, and Andrew Johns working with him... he is going to lock himself into the Origin jersey. He will win us the series. :)

Leaving Penrith has done wonders for his career. This will make it hard to keep some of our juniors.

Well said Dave. ;-) i do feel for Gowie, i only hope one day he returns to the NRL, hopefully to Penrith to finish his career.

i am a convert to Bobby Blair, i think his defense is top shelf and he has a good kicking game those 2 things alone should keep him in the No.6. with some good coaching he'll only get better.

ummm ok..

missed 5-6 tackles and made 15 over the last 3-4 games he's played and his kicking has pretty much found the fullback every time except for last week...

Statistics give a guide to what a player/team is doing. The only real way to judge is to go to the game and watch. Blair is doing a good job in my opinion.

I was at a function back in January and met a bloke who was Wallaces' coach in the junior grades, when I asked him his thoughts on the move he went off his dial about the politics at the club that alledegedly forced Wallaces' hand in leaving Penrith. He got pretty emotional about it in the end, I moved on before he started throwing schooner glasses at the walls. Nothing new with politics in sport, just sad to see the effects on the ppl that matter...the average joe.

Politics?

What........like Chris Hicks getting stuck in Reserve Grade and then flicked to Manly after a punch up on a bus trip with Martie lang?

That's not politics.

Like Benny Ross being released for a couple of domestic misdemeanours involving other players at the club that were in better favour with management?

That's not politics.

It twas politics with biff!

I was backing el presidente in that one at the time.

And he made sure that Ross paid his dues.

Rugby League is no different to any other job. Being good at your job isn't enough. You also need to learn not to rock the boat and to perform felatio upon the person that signs your paycheck on a regular basis. Sad, but true.

I think Mr. Sammut maybe learning how to perform that trick if he ever gets back into first grade.

a star was born last night! unfortunately if he stayed with you guys i doubt he would be this good, the coaching of Bennett, Lockyer, Bellamey and Joey have had a real impact.

Yeah he really did the best thing for his career, and it's great to see him doing so well.

It would have taken him years at the Panthers to get into Origin, if he was lucky.

What's done is done, nothing we can do about it. An article in the Smellygraph yesterday said that 100K would have meant he stayed at Penrith.

That aside, truth or not, Wallace has grown an extra leg wince he's joined up with Brisbane, and now has an Origin appearance next to his name. And he was one of our best last night too - looked a natural in that arena.

That's just the nature of rugby league. Some players go better in a different team. Wallace is a classic example.

Bear in mind that Petero looked like an average forward in that Brisbane team. He comes to Penrith, and in my opinion is a stand out every week.

Maybe Brisbane are just a very good, very well coached team and any player that goes there under Bennett will produce their best footy??????
