Released from final year of contract.

Going to Captain Brisbane apparantly.

Interesting decision.

He's been a great servant for the club...so can't say I'm not disappointed.

But he has shown some signs of decline this year...and I'm ready to put our investment behind our young core of props.

The issue is the crap we got told last week. Job for life and other rubbish. Not to mention it frees up $300k yet. Round 21 and we have no one coming and cleared about $1m

He's been incredibly consistent on the park, and we have often lost our way when he's been off the field. He'll go down as one of the best props we've had at the club.

It was however pretty clear he hasn't been happy with how the club has been run this year, and I've been a bit disappointed at how eager he seemed to let the media know about it at times. He'd be on big $$ too, so it's probably time to start looking elsewhere. Grant and McKendry are more than ready. (in no small part down to Petero's influence no doubt)

All the best to the big guy.

Not angry at the club, no point keeping a guy here who doesn't want to be here. Seriously though contracts these days aren't worth the paper they're written on.

Also smacks a little of taking his bat and ball and going home because he doesn't like the umpires decision given some of the comments his made since the announcment Elliott's contract wouldn't be renewed.

I know of 3 which I listed in the other thread. None of whom are even proven in 1st grade yet

Great servant for the club , even though he'll always be considered a bronco , he's still a panthers legend IMO.

Grant & Mckendry wouldnt be the players they are today without Petero having come to the club.

hoping the team lifts and can send petro out by winning 2011 premiership! how sweet would that be.

Maybe a case of ' better a year early than a year late'

Understandable that a queensland family may not really settle into the Penrith weather and lifestyle.

Still he has been a great player for us and i do wish him all the best.....its been a privilege to see him play.

Disappointed in the way it happened.. but wish Petero all the best in the future. Hurts us experience wise with House and Civ leaving, but now the focus turns to youth.

I think we got the best years of Petero's career. At his age, you can't get any better, so probably a good decision to let him go and lets give some cash to some young blokes.

A true champion on and off the field. And would rate up there with the clubs best ever signings the timing of his stay at the club has lead to the emerging and faster development of mc kendry and grant
But at 420k a year that is just to much as he is at the back end of his career

It'll be interesting to see how much game time he gets on the way to the finals.

He only played half a game last week..IMO not enough time for someone who commands the money we spend on him.
