PETITION: Axe The Tax, it affects THE SHARKS

I have set up a petition to axe the proposed the New South Wales Poker Machine Tax, which may threaten the viability of 7 New South Wales and is the reason why the salary cap can't be increased.

Here's a link:

http://www.petitiononline.com/57987/petition.html

I will take the petition to New South Wales Government House in May when I go there on a school excursion and give a hard copy to my local MP, David Campbell to forward to Michael Egan. Alternatively if I see Michael Egan I will hand it too him and give him a mouth full of what I think of the tax.

IT AFFECTS THE SHARKS BECAUSE THE SALARY CAP MAY NOT BE LIFTED IF THE TAX GOES AHEAD AND CRONULLA LEAGUES WILL MORE THAN LIKELY NOT BE ABLE TO GIVE THE CURRENT AMOUNTS OF FUNDING THAT IT CURRENTLY GIVES TO THE SHARKS.

Don't worry I'm not here to cause trouble or start a debate.

I'm living up to my New Years Reso of being unbiast so don't worry.

Oh yeah Lukey Boy! I am SO pleased that you are being unbiast, oops, I mean UNBIASED. I must hand it too...oops again, sorry once more...TO you, you're a go getter. You tell that Mr Egan what you really think...Before Mrs Nutcracker yells at you and puts you on detention.

Has anyone ever heard of a successful petition??????

Not lately. The electorate blew their chance to get rid of the mongrels but couldn't see past the spin. Not that I've got much confidence in the libs but who would vote for labour now if they had known what was coming. Not just the pokie tax thing but a list as long as your arm.

To tell you the truth, im looking forward to this tax taking place.

Maybe the pimply faced git running the "marketing" team may think of some fresher ideas other than offering a free coin cup for every 20bux cashed in.

I'm still furious that Bob Carr got back in. Him and his team of idiots are a disgrace to this state. Especially Costa.

I reckon. You'd reckon they were running an inward looking RSL or bowling club down there as opposed to a National Rugby League club.

I agree with your sentiments and actions, Luke. No matter what others may say, I believe that the more people who protest against the effect this tax will have on clubs, the better. If enough people/voters raise their voices against it then maybe it will not be implemented.

We can all protest at the polls, but history shows that there is little chance of the law being changed by a new govt. Like other governments that have held power for several terms Carr has been there too long and has become too arrogant. Whatever side of the fence you may sit we need a change.

Egan is saying they need the money to fix up the hospitals. If this goes through I want to see absolute proof every cent goes there and not into some bloated bureaucrats's super fund.

Come on you Sharks fans, sign the petition.

If this tax goes ahead you will see the results in around 7-10 years time when there are no juniors coming through the ranks.

Cronulla are very closely linked to the leagues club and have one of if not the strongest linkage between a leagues club and a NRL club.

This will hurt your juniors the most as junior clubs rely on funds from clubs and if the tax goes ahead clubs will be unable to provide the current amounts of funding that they currently provide.

In 7-10 years time will we see players like Matt Hilder, Michael Sullivan, Paul Franze and Greg Bird coming through the ranks?

If the tax goes ahead, no.

If you try to stop the tax from going ahead, there is a better chance.
