Sharks will be up for it..

I just want to see us play our best. For 80mins!! Its happened once or twice all year. An 80min best performance that we are capable of.

Hopefully the boys all watched the game together last night. We get through this week of training with no mishaps amd we are ready to roll.

Schnieder will be 14 i have no doubt..i think hes bog avg but given naths shoulder hes the best choice as cover.

Players i want to see bloody aim up..

I back them to be harder than the Roosters to beat. Not a huge difference but tougher.

Just because it's a prelim and the hoodoo ended last night. They'll lift but we will too which is why I'm very confident of victory.

Reminds of the 2021 where you's just beat the Eels who lost 3players for the match injured
A gift run only having to face the entire top 4 in the finals? Assuming Storm make the grand final ofcourse. Panthers will have had to play 3rd, 4th and 1st.

Same run as the Storm. You want a gift run. Storm face an injury ravaged Roosters on a short turnaround to make the grand final.

Yet again the top 4 makes the preliminaries.

The gap between the top 4 and the rest has been very noticeable this year, and the same can be said about the gap from the top 2 and the rest.

To make the top 2 playing like busteds all year, and then click into gear last week, to now face one of our bunnies for a spot in our 5th straight GF is pretty amazing really.

Watching Cronulla against the Cowboys showed exactly what the Sharks are about. Build a lead and hang on. It ain't gonna happen against the best defence ever which finally showed up against the Roosters last week.

Nicho looks slow and clueless at the moment, their forwards play on nervous energy and tire easily and both wingers run across field a lot.

Trindall and Brayley are the focus as they are in some form, but they have always struggled to score against us so I'd expect trick plays all night.

We get through this one and I'm pretty sure that the last 4 years of GF experience will be enough for the 4th.

Kennedy is terrified of playing the Panthers

Gets man handled and doesn't want to run.

Combine that with Katoa and Ronaldo derping it up we should dominate their back three.

I’m worried about this game. Our worst performances all year have been against the lesser sides and when we are expected to win, eyes on the future.

Obviously this is the finals so by definition the Sharks aren’t a dud side, but this is the finals equivalent.

Yeah the one thing that can beat this side is themselves. I don't see them being complacent for the finals.

Sharks have to have a 10/10 performance to be a chance

the Cows were really poor in the first half and Cronulla finally got a dominant lead at the break, but their 24-0 half compared to ours a week ago was nowhere near our dominance against the Chooks.

as it was posted earlier, Sharks plan is to get a lead and hang on for dear life, the Cows clicked into gear and had Shark fans panicking.

i feel the Chooks Manly game had more intensity than Sharks Cows and the Chooks flogged Manly.

i dont think it will be another 42-0 win, but if Week 1 Penrith shows up this week, Cronulla fans will head for the exits at HT. I cant see Cronulla running down a red hot panthers team.

that said - we need to build on week 1, we need to show alot of hunger, but keep our heads and play smart. Find the limit and play close to it, but try & play the full 80.

This weeks theme be about achieving an 80 minute performance.

NRL: Nathan Cleary and Nicho Hynes will go head to head this Saturday in a preliminary finals showdown as the Panthers take on the Sharks.
Nathan Cleary has revealed young Panthers tearaway Mavrik Geyer’s role in putting his damaged shoulder through a finals-intensity fitness test as the Penrith superstar prepares to again put his body on the line in the quest for a fourth straight NRL premiership.

The son of club legend, Mark Geyer, has been instrumental in ensuring Cleary’s shoulder got a proper workout since he returned to full contact training three weeks ago.
It comes as Panthers hard man Liam Martin laughed off suggestions he would need to run protection for his halfback in Saturday’s NRL preliminary final against Cronulla at Accor Stadium.
Or that Cleary, who is one the NRL’s best defensive halves, even needed the NSW Blues firebrand as added security on Penrith’s right edge, where the pair defend side-by-side.
“No, he always laughs when people try to tell him I’m his bodyguard, because he reckons he’s my bodyguard!,” Martin said of Cleary.
“He’s sweet to defend alongside and it gives you that extra confidence knowing that he’s going to stand up and do his role and you don’t have to protect him.”
Martin is more qualified than most to comment on Cleary’s defending, having played alongside him since their SG Ball days nine years ago.
“We’ve played together for a long time now and know how one another works and defends, so I’m really looking forward to doing it again this weekend,” Martin said.

“You got a little glimpse of his confidence. We did a little opposed session against our NSW Cup side and I think a couple of the boys went a hundred miles an hour at him and he was just throwing himself at him and it gave you that confidence heading into the game, that he was sweet.”
And the main man running full pace at Cleary has been Geyer who, at 15kg heavier, did his best to imitate damaging Sydney Roosters forward Angus Crichton ahead of their week one finals clash.
The rising forward will play the role of Cronulla’s Teig Wilton on the left edge during this week’s contact sessions to prepare Cleary’s shoulder for another physical onslaught in their grand final qualifier.
“He likes to go pretty hard at training so … no, it’s actually been really good. I actually needed that just for confidence, through training before that Roosters game,” Cleary said of Geyer, who has played 11 NRL games for the Panthers since making his debut in Round 4.

“With Angus (Crichton) running at me, it was going to be a tough test – just about as tough as it gets – so Mav did a good job of that and helped me out.”
Cleary admitted he was still rehabbing his right shoulder, and the halfback will take the same studious approach in devising a game plan to pick apart Cronulla under the NRL finals format where he has noticed a trend of referees being more inclined to put away the whistle.
Last weekend’s two semi-final clashes only had a single set restart in each of the games, compared to 43 restarts in the final round of the regular season.
Cleary said he and halves partner Jarome Luai had every intention of making the most of the NRL’s new edict on Saturday night.

“Hopefully it’s like that for the rest of this finals series,” Cleary said.
“I enjoy those kinds of games. You really see the fatigue start coming into the game and it opens up for guys like me, Romey and the spine players to have more control over it.
“We like that kind of footy but I think most teams would say they like it as well.
“Especially as a fan, I definitely prefer watching games with less penalties and less set restarts.
“You tend to see that a bit more, when it comes to this time of the season, and also games like Origin.
“It’s no wonder that they’re the best games to watch because it just lets it flow a bit.”

Should have Tokelau in the 14 instead of Schneider. Cleary is good to go, and Toelau can cover halves and Hooker. Plus the 14 normally doesn’t get used much anyway. And hope Sorensen is fit to play too.

I would run out 1-17 as named, Scotty is not worth the risk.

Yeah but Henry and Smith are ordinary on an edge. You are only looking for someone either side of halftime when Garner needs a rest
