I can't even imagine how shit it would be seeing that head in the stands supplying your team.

Hopefully he gets sacked and you guys win it this year. Then I could enjoy the victory knowing that he never got to publish the gloating piece of shit article that he's had ready all these years.
Personally, I'd love to see the Panthers beat the Sharks in the grand final, just to heap a bit more misery on Rothfield. Only after he dies will I be happy to see the Sharks lift the trophy.

Never thought I'd see the day where the words "my" & "integrity" would be uttered in the same sentence by that hack.
Thoroughly enjoyed that article. Particularly this bit:
"given the allegations in that Fairfax article, we’d be surprised if News Corp does allow him to return"

However we hear he may be coming back.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

Amazingly, Rothfield told Fairfax he had never notified his editors of his financial dealings with Hayson.

We can only guess he’d never read this clause in News Corp’s Editorial Code of Conduct.

Failure to notify the editor and managing editor of any real or potential conflict of interest may result in dismissal.

Can't they enforce the their code of conduct for once?

Depends who gave permission for what.

Purely wild speculation but I imagine the phone hacking clearance came from high up, whereas hopefully rothfield acted alone and gets cut loose.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news Rothfield is on 2gb right now talking to Hadley about his column What's the Buzz in tomorrow's Sunday Telegraph.
It appears he been let out of the dungeon.

This got the Grill Team’s MG and Matty Johns talking about their feuds with journos over the years.

MG remembers his feud with Herald journalist Roy Masters, who broke MG’s infamous ’pot’ story in 1991. Watch the video below.

He remembers the incident vividly.

Buzz Rothfield rang me a couple of weeks before and said ‘we know it’s you that’s tested positive’ and he said ‘we’re not going to print it. It’s not the world’s worst crime and we think it’s going to wreck your career.’"

“And he said ‘I think Roy knows about it’ and so the front page of the Hearld was ‘Where’s There’s Smoke There’s Fire'."

As the late-Stan Zemanek would say, I hope Buzz hasn't been smoking the 'wacky tobacky'!

IT’S great to be back for the most exciting finals series for years, but first let’s clear a few things up.

Four weeks ago I stood aside from this column and other reporting duties while my employer investigated my association with controversial punterEddie Hayson.

Every article published about Eddie by me and other writers over the last 10 years has been examined.

I have disclosed my TAB betting account records and detailed how Eddie and I punted together.

I have also disclosed how I purchased him tickets to a State of Origin and a grand final and how Eddie then reimbursed me for them.

The investigation found my journalism and reporting has not been compromised by my relationship with Eddie and I did not receive gifts from him.

However I accept that Eddie is a controversial figure and any perception that the relationship between he and I was closer than one of reporter and contact has put me and my editors in a difficult position.

I will no longer be punting with Eddie Hayson. The episode has taken a toll on my health and I am making it my number one priority to get well again.

What’s the Buzz will be in full flight until the 2016 grand final is run and won (hopefully by my beloved Sharks) and then I am taking a long break during the off-season.

Thanks to my family and all my friends in journalism and sport who have offered me their support over the last month.
