How was Cardiff mate.

I have done Edgbaston & Lords 2019, Manchester 2023 and the atmosphere is awesome.

A couple of mates went to Cardiff 2015 test and reckon it was good town though they got smacked that test match. Hadds & Watto never played again.

A shame about the ending though on Day 5 in 2009.

I remember being up all night as that day 5 in Australia was Sunday Night and it was the July School Holidays.

That cost us the series that last day we should have rolled them. How we let two bunnies in Anderson & Panesar block out 45 mins of play was simply embarrasing.

We win in Cardiff we win 2009.

The amount of cock ups we have had in England since 2001 and not win a series in 23 years is embarrassing really.

Cardiff was great. I never knew much about the town or country but it was surprisingly good. I think a lot of them were supporting us instead of England.

The crowd was probably around 15,000 given its a small ground but that atmosphere was great with the English crowd, also met a few ex cricketers like Julian, Kasprowicz, Stackpole.

That test was definitely a missed opportunity. They were 9 down when they had Siddle and Hilfenhaus bowling but what shocked us when Ponting started using Hauritz and North bowling to tail-enders. I couldnt understand it then but was later told he had to use spinners to avoid a fine for slow over rate which was a ridiculous excuse. Like 2005 2nd test, if we win that test, we win the series.

To make it worse the England fans cheered as if they had won the game. They celebrated more than the Lords test which they actually won. I guess they knew it was a momentum swing.

Not to mention the catch claimed by Andrew Strauss at Lord's that clearly bounced

I think it was him or Bell that didnt walk after what looked like a catch from Hussey so the umpires referred it but the third umpire called it was inconclusive.

I guess he didnt want to upset the MCC members lol

Well Andrew Symonds loved Cardiff as well 😀.

Thinking of doing Southampton in 2027 if i go over.

Yeah Ponting pissing away test matches because of over rates and worried about a suspension wasn't the first time.

Did the same thing in 2008 in India. I recall Allan Border losing his shit in the box as I think it was last test as well with the series on the line and he his bowling Mike Hussey straight after the tea on day 4 with India 7 down and 200 in front. They batted out the session and us out the game and won the test match.

Haha I stayed out till 5am in Cardiff about the Third Day, had two hours sleep, drank a few red bulls then headed to the test.

Was that test in 2008 where Cameron White bowled ridiculous deliveries?
