I do feel for him because he had a disrupted pathway to the NRL thanks to COVID, but many other have as well so you don't want to use it as an excuse.

He really needs to play a full year in the one position to work on his craft. There may be an ok halfback in there but he hasn't had the chance to work on it.
i get that but my issue is he has played about 25 first grade games, enough to feel a certain level or comfort but i still cannot tell you what his actual strengths are, what he brings to the table. To me he's below average in every physical attribute and every skillset

I agree. I wasn't trying to defend him in anyway, just saying I have empathy because he hasn't had the opportunity to progress his career as a player typically would. He was a halfback brought into grade to play anything but halfback.

If he wants to keep his NRL dreams alive he needs a full year either in reserves, super league or local comp and then hope he develops what he needs to and some NRL team takes a chance then as a depth player.

Pearce came joined the club in 2018, and in that time we gave Pearce no decent 5/8 to succeed with.

We also had Crossland as part our grand succession plan ? We let Pezet go to the Storm and Jock Madden go to the Tigers ( aparently 2 fairly good prospects ) .

The real shitf**kery here falls to the club management.

Pezet left because we sacked his dad. No chance he comes back.

Madden left for opportunity and is off contract at the end of the year. We should already have him coming back for the 7 jersey.

If AOB isn't an absolute softcock KP plays in the halves next week.

It would probably be a complete disaster, but you can't keep doing the same thing and expecting different results

Surely he has to.

put 6 on his back and tell him to play like Dylan Brown.

Are you for f**king real? What an absolute pussy. If he went out there and absolutely busted his gut and did everything he could to get us the win, then he can cry. But he didn't. He's a f**king passenger, a liability, an absolute waste of oxygen, and I hate him

This is one of the most vitriolic, toxic, disgusting, hateful things I've ever read on this forum.

You have my respect.

Yeah what Frederick said was piss poor, he wouldn’t say it to the bloke’s face I’m sure.

Crossland had some big wraps on him a few years ago before he debuted, did anyone see him play back then? He must have had something going for him. To me it looks like he’s had all the instinct coached out of him and now he plays like a robot. Everything he does is premeditated, he either gets the ball and passes it without digging into the line, or he runs straight at the line without looking at what’s in front of him, or he puts up a meaningless kick that doesn’t actually concern anyone from the opposition or cause any pressure.

Unfortunately I think we’ve seen enough now to say that he’s not improved at all since he came into the NRL and he won’t be improving anymore at this club. Time to go.

Plan was Ponga to halves, Hodgson to fullback. Appears that there was no backup plan whatsoever.
then that's what needs to happen next season, problem of finding a 7 is solved, Cliff to 7, Ponga to 6 and throw Hodgson in the 1 and see if he swims or sinks.

We could all see that at the end of last season, why he's in the roster is what I'd like to know.....dito Hoy, Johns etc etc etc etc + 10 about others.

i remember when we re-signed him there were suggestions at the time AOB was looking to turn him into a middle, i was surprised, physically he's a bottom of the barrel athlete in terms of size, power, explosiveness, speed, etc. He had some wraps on him as a young half but so did Brock Lamb, Jack Cogger, Lachlan Lewis, Brodie Croft, Tanah Boyd, etc

they are humiliating stats for any rookie. Sadly for Crosslands this will surely be his last year......although I wouldnt exactly fall off my chair if the Knights extended his deal.

The Knights have form in this area.

Poor Crossland. It’s his 4th season in first grade and the opposition have finally worked out a way to shut down his dangerous attacking game.

well when you're the size and strength of a jersey flegg halfback, the same level of speed and athleticism of a C grade oztag player and havr below average passing and kicking skills its not exactly a mystery why he's not exactly an attacking threat.

I gotta hand it to him, he looked like an actual footballer out there at hooker tonight. It just might be a position he could be useful in
He's definitely had shaky service at times in other games, but his best footy in FG has easily been at hooker and he was pretty good tonight. Definitely got us on the front foot at times. Randall is average but he gets even more stale at hooker over 80 minutes.

Not that I'm overly keen on him in the 17 anyway. I wish we had other options, but hopefully at least the lock experiment is over now
