I think a lot also depends on if the times are taken from a standing start or not.
A lot off players are quick off the mark but get run down, where as a winger who has a greater top end speed and runs onto the ball will be much quicker over the 40.

I don't think it would bother Rieck. He could be sitting down, and still break 5sec

B - Backs. F - Forwards. Time in seconds. Players weight added for comparison. Taken from the 2004 Season Guide which may or may not be accurate.

Melbourne
B: Billy Slater, 87kg - 4.71

Hmm, imagine how much faster Billy would've been if he was hampered with that oesteitis pubis (sp?) problem for all of 2004. :D
that injury will debilitate Slaters speed for the rest of his career I think I heard Craig Bellamy say...even one of the doctors may have said so.

Aside from that I think all those figures are from last year....

The same goes for Brett, he wasn't fully fit untill about halfway through the season.

F: Anthony Watmough, 94kg - 4.83
F: Tom Learoyd, 115kg - 4.88

Who was saying Learoyd was faster than Choc?

I did, and I still reckon Learoyd would be faster over 100, which is what we were debating at the time.

I reckon Patton could halve that time if he had Learoyd after him.

Dang! Dem Tiggapies have got some sparky muddertruckers Reick, Elford and Halatau is doing it in the piggies.

Daniel Fitzhenry would really give Rieck a run for his money in quickest over 40m in NRL.

wonder how Chris Leikvoll would have gone? ;-)

hahaha!!!!

They'd still be waiting now for him to finish, even though the tests were done in 2004.
God he was painful for us to watch.
