Stacey Jones and Ruben Wiki. Dead set legends. Kept RL alive in NZ pretty much single handedly for about a decade.

Shame neither of them lasted long enough to enjoy NZ's current period of success... they deserved it. Hell, they built it.

Good call, and both of them were involved in the 2005 Tri Nations win so they did get to taste some of the success. Also Ruben was the trainer in 08/09.

Anyone who has said Slater, Cameron Smith, JT, Johns and even up until recently Gallen, is kidding themselves. All great athletes but controversy and subsequent hate has DEFINITELY not eluded them. Sure you may choose to not hate them and may even like them but it is not "NEAR IMPOSSIBLE" to find a reason to loathe them. I'm not saying I dislike all those people but there are very big reasons to do so.

Of the players iv met, Tahu was very very polite.

John Cartwright is also a good bloke.

Some players I didnt particularly shine to (not because they're bad blokes, I just didn't get along with them) were Paul Gallen, Anthony Tupou, Peter Sterling.

Hospitality is a good industry to meet players pending where you work.
