You cannot be serious. Brad Fittler enjoyed a stellar career at the Roosters and his reasons for leaving Penrith were quite fundamental. He wanted to be loyal to the ARL after Panthers announced they were joining Superleague. Fittler would have played his whole career at Penrith if this hadn't happened.

You don't think it had anything to do with the ARL offering to make him the highest paid footballer and captain of the Oz side? haha

I think you have a point, you could argue this was the case with Brett White who left the Storm to join the Raiders. White never seemed to be as prominent when he was with the Raiders although from memory he was crippled with injuries during his tenure. He never played for NSW again after he left the Storm.

Well that's because he should never, ever, ever have been in the frame for Origin. Was a classic picked because of the team he played for, not for performance rep player. On field one of the worst signings Canberra have made.

Kirk Reynoldson went to the Knights and got treated disgracefully.

Luke Davico deserved to leave the game on a much better note than he did, but that's what happens when you sign for the Knights.

Even the immortal Steve Walters saw his career come to an inglorious end at the hands of the Newcastle scum.

Tuivasa-Sheck to the Warriors. With us he was consistently playing finals footy, looked really good and like a future star of the game. Signs with the Warriors and despite flashes of brilliance looks quite ordinary.

Big money contracts are often poison chalices.

Get out of your comfort zone [coaches, clubs, systems, fans, owners/board etc], expected to now win/lead. Oh you've got the money, you must be an expert. An easy target for fans / media when it doesn't work.

Like the RTS example above. Chris Sandow...Craig Field...spring to mind. You end up polarising both sets of fans and every little failure is magnified by said fans and the media. In the end, you've got to wonder if the extra money is worth it.

I didn't realise the club sponsored drug program dated back so far.
