PM's XIII

Isn't the whole thing with the PM's XI that the PM picks the team?

Does this happen with the PM's XIII? If not what's the point of calling it the PM's XIII? Why not call them, say, the Kangaroos?

You don't want Krudd picking a team anyway - he would pick females in key positions...

Rudd is the Broncos no 1 ticket holder or something. He was in the change rooms after out last win too. With gigs like that I'd like to assume that he's got a decent knowledge of the game.

Cathy Freeman was our #1 ticket holder, went to games, did things with the peach and then admitted she had never watched a game before we invited her.

I'd go as far to presume that any PM doesn't actually pick any team named in their honour - more than likely done in liaison with an advisor, working from a "suggested list" from the sport concerned.

I'd be very surprised if anyone from the PM XIII features in the final 24 man WC squad, they are probably the outside chances only, and one of them might come in only if there is an injury in the games over next three weekends.

Good on Hindy for getting one more go in a green and gold jersey though! :D

K, though I suppose Howard would've liked the idea of picking a cricket team

Oh, and for those talking about Rudd's knowledge of the game, he used to be a 2nd rower (there was a thing in the paper ages back, weird things like that tend to stick in my mind)

Kevin Rudd would smash a pie on his face if that got him votes.

He supports the Broncos because working families support the Broncos!

Now John Howard, THERE is a sports fans.

Wendell Sailor is out
His replacement was going to be Nathan Merritt, but he has been ruled out with injury and replaced with Maurice Blair.

Mal has massive wraps on him, but i would've rathered had another Panther been picked, it was Michael Gordon. Personally i think we should have had Hayne on the wing and put Gidley at fullback.

Is the PNG national broadcaster showing this? If so what are the chances of a internet stream? (bloody fox for not showing it!)

PNG now has two television stations - EM TV and the new National Television Service (NTS) which was turned on last week and is only broadcasting 2 hours of programs a day - it's first major broadcasts will apparently be the RLWC.

EM TV has showed the PM's XIII match in the past and I'm guessing will again.

From YouTube it seems that EM TV shows SP Cup or at least highlights...
