Do you feel the 100 points is ideal for equalisation of the competition and if not how would you do it.

i think the points system should remain though not under the current guidelines.
with jersey flegg reverting to a full season there is no longer a need to accomodate for players under the age of 20. though as over the years we have lost rep comps such as under 21's and under 23's the jb cup should be aiming to accomodate these players who still have a chance to make it though may be slower developers.
exemptions should also be made for international players. situations such as the one at the Bulls this year where James Pickering wasnt eligible to play isnt ideal for the international game as it weakens the strength of the international teams such as Fiji.
the points system is also still needed as it levels the playing field between the clubs backed by the big leagues clubs (eg. Wenty and St Marys)and the clubs relying primarily on community support (eg. Ourimbah and Newtown) as it stops the large clubs filling their sides with NRL has beens through offering big contracts.

Good points mono mal. As you say, there is still a need for a points system on some level to even out the vast differences in club capacities (even though Newtown won many a Metro Cup in the 1990s without it). Aslo, because Flegg is being extended it may not be completely necessary to reward youth in the way it did last year.
