So after all the media beat-up about KP and Kangaroos availability he doesn’t get picked anyway. LOL.

Oh well it works out better for the Knights anyway. I don’t give a rats @ss about the Pacific Championship tbh.

Let’s be honest. He would have been picked if he hadn’t ruled himself out initially. There’s no way they were going to pick him after he said he didn’t want to play.

At least it’s all been put to bed. I’m not sure why Kalyn didn’t just call Mal and rule himself out like he did with Slater last year. Seems like the right thing to do. Hopefully he’s learnt (and the club and his Dad now understand his contract).

Because they wanted to pander to Knights fans. I believe that's the only reason why.

He pulled out of SOO last year though for the same reason and knew to call Billy first. It’s all a bit weird. KP’s always sort of danced to the beat of his own drum though. At least the outcome is what he wanted. Such a storm in a teacup.

EDWARDS SENDS PONGA A WAKE-UP CALL FROM CHRISTCHURCH

You just hope Kalyn Ponga was watching the shift workaholic Panther Dylan Edwards put in for the Kangaroos in Christchurch.

One bloke didn’t want to play for Australia because he said that he wanted to focus on getting himself right for Newcastle next season.

The other was playing busted with that ongoing knee injury after helping to guide the Panthers to their fourth straight premiership.

Crawley’s still having trouble letting it all go…

Murdoch knows what gets the clicks. Disparaging Ponga hits the mark everytime. The stolen Dally M story went on for 2 weeks or more.

To be fair it says more about the state of Australian society, it's mindset, and increasingly bitter and nasty tone, than it does about Kayln Ponga - Murdoch truly is cancer.

Im sure he couldn’t care less tbh.

Also a bit of a different situation: Ponga wanting to win his first comp with his club that haven’t won one in a long time vs Edwards coming off 4 in a side where he’s less important. I swear these journos are morons.

He's at it again

Some excerpts
It would be an absolute injustice if the Rabbitohs lose their most inspirational player for potentially a third of next season and still get no salary cap relief after Murray did the right thing and put his hand up to play for Australia.

Meanwhile, Kalyn Ponga got off scot-free after initially ruling himself out of the Pacific Nations so Ponga could keep himself fresh for Newcastle next season.

But he still went out and played because he didn’t want to let the team down.

Surely it would make little sense to see the Rabbitohs penalised here, especially after Ponga escaped punishment.

We all know Ponga was never going to get picked after the way he went about disrespecting the Kangaroos and coach Mal Meninga in the first place.

The backflip was ultimately nothing more than a public relations stunt to save him from a possible sanction.
