Poor Ben Hunt

Haha, self importance much? Do you honestly think I would be bothered by any childish name calling you fire at me? That is cute.

Obviously you have a problem with people who disagree with your views. I think Ben Hunt is our best player, our best halfback, and crazy to let him go. You don't. So what? No skin off my nose what you think. If that makes me a merkin in your eyes, says more about the kind of person you are.

And sorry for my thoughts being petty comments. I had no idea you were the only one here allowed to be petty.

Have a good day tomorrow, and go Dragons....the Ben Hunt led Dragons.
Self importance? No. I just prefer people who speak plainly.

Thanks for doing so. I feel like we’re starting to get along famously.

The comparison is how the fans turned on him, such as fans here saying f*ck off Hunt etc, and how that turned out for them. Smells very similar.
Yes but Newcastle did not have juniors coming thru to replace Pearce hence their downfall.
For us we have a bloke who plays hooker for Queensland, he doesn't say I wont play for Qld cause I am not half back.
BUT for the club he fleeces and pays his salary he has reportedly said I am the half back and wont play hooker.
We have an issue at hooker, he is our best option given we have talent coming thru in the halves.
Suck it up Ben and play where it is best for the team
That is what a leader and captain does to earn the respect of the fans.
I would not want to be Ben or Hook next year if we lose Bud and he is killing at the Dogs while we are are losing and at the bottom.
The bottom line is if management allows Bud to leave to keep Hunt then they MUST put their job on the line now and resign if the team fails.
They have to accept ACCOUNTABILITY.

I understand your frustration, mate. To me, you are putting a lot of faith on a young kid who spends more time injured than playing, and has played 1 NRL game at halfback and struggled badly, showing he has a way to go to be an NRL player killing it at any club. I would be surprised if Bud was killing it anywhere in 2023.
I believe Hunt is our best halfback, should be playing there next year. And buy a 1st grade hooker to replace McCullough, with Bud the 14 instead of Mbye. That way he is getting the 1st grade experience he needs, and still getting to learn the halfback role from Hunt. I was hoping for Verrills as hooker. He had a huge game yesterday.

This is likely to be Hunt's last contract and the Dragons don't look like going anywhere near a premiership in that time.

So he'd prefer money to a premiership.

Don't begrudge him his choice but it sends a pretty clear message to the rest of the squad and the comp.

Call me unfaithful or whatever tf you want. But if Hunt, a 32 year old is to be on $1.3 million for the last few years of his career while letting some of our young talent go, it might be the end of me watching our games. Will always be a Dragons fan but f**k me I can't stand our f**king board the fossilised old shits. Craig Young literally said there's nobody bigger than the club, but here they all are willing to bring millions of dollars to Hunt.

f**k off (in case I haven't said it enough).
You got to do what's best for you and your family. You would do the same given the opportunity. Don't say you wouldn't because it would be a lie.

28 games at hooker are a little different than 3.

If we Hunt will only sign if Griffin is extended. We'll Good Bye Ben.
You take up to much cap for value.
I have always rated Hunt but you cannot sign players on those demands.
Also he is turning 33.
Put the money towards some descent forwards.

I think all this Ben Hunt bashing is over the top based on media reporting speculation and their interpretation of conversations.
Just becuase he supposedly said Sullivan needs to buy his time, learn the trade etc, what is wrong with that. Sounds like to me he is supporting him to stay and work into the role.
I think Sullo could be our Sam Walker even our Cleary but his body has to last.
Walker and Cleary's body handled the transition, Sullo's has not thus far in lower grades

Why do we have to focus on a potential sounding negative comment and inflate it to busting as if we all know what his new salary would be, what he has said to the club and now people are saying he is holding the club to ransom..BS.
The board and / or coach sign a contract off as well as the player. Its on them if they pay the ransom fee

Sullivan has had many an injury thus far and played little reserve grade.
Bulldogs want him, big deal. They have no faith in their current 7 and are desperately looking anywhere where we currently have a good 7 and probably an even better one in time to play with his mates.

I agree, that we should have gone all out for Verrills. Maybe we did and he just turned us down!? Why choose the Titans over us? What makes the Titans more attractive? Was it the money or the culture? Did Brett Morris whisper into his ear - "The Dragons are a joke Sam, go to the Titans instead"?

Better players staying away from us because we are a circus with a lot of jugglers, monkeys and merry-go-rounds making us dizzy. But I couldn't care less if Hook goes or stays. I couldn't care less if Hunt goes or stays nor would I care if Sullivan goes or stays and the same goes for Sloan. It's the club not the personnel that I am following.

I know that our player strength will not be great next year but I'm sure that the club will make a good fist of those players we will retain and recruit no matter what. I'm getting used to all the dramas this club brings on us. Just like my arthritic fingers all bent and sore, but I get used to the pain and suffering.

My arthritis is starting now. Left foot and a couple of fingers too. Guitar being neglected due to fat fingers making chords more difficult. Even tried rubbing viagra of my left foot to stop the limp, didn't work. Getting used to living with the aches now, comfortable being uncomfortable.
Still watching every game every weekend. Hate what the game has become, hate our ineptness, but still tune in to as many games as I can. I hear many saying the are off the game, refusing to watch anymore. But I am afraid for me, no footy is not an option....it is my addiction and I need it.

Osteoarthritis!! Bloody hell who invented it? Same here with the guitar and so difficult picking tiny things up from the floor. It's like the little boy who after his first day at school, his dad asked how the day went and what was his lady teacher like and the boy motions with both his hands and fingers bent at breast height and his dad says, "what big tits and the boy laughs and says - no arthritis".

Oh if only following the Dragons was as lighthearted as that little boys remark.

Did you watch Hunt last week?
Absolutely useless just like the years before this year

To be fair he has been our best all year and I wouldn't go so far as say he was useless. Last week's game is a result of playing SOO and then backing up which seems to be catching up with him. Some rest in the next few round is what he needs.

Anyway whatever is said, thought, happens , disagreed with I think there is one thing we all in here can agree on
Hunt has proven he would be even a better player for us (that is saying something) with better coaching and team around him for support
Hear hear
