THEY may have slowed down somewhat but the ageing Port Adelaide players emulated their younger (and fitter) charges by defeating the Adelaide Crows 16.10 (106) to 13.9 (87) in this afternoon's Slowdown VII at Adelaide Oval.
Former Port Adelaide great Scott Cummings needed only half a game to boot five goals, giving his team a handy 31-point lead going into Slowdown VII's main break.
While his speed and agility had waned with the passing of the years, his accuracy in banging the ball between the two big sticks had obviously remained as he bagged two more after half time to finish with seven.
Tony "Godra" Modra was hot on his tail with five goals for the Crows.
Guy Sebastian kicked the last goal of the game and celebrated by doing a hand stand.
About 25,000 spectators watched the ageing stars of Adelaide and Port Adelaide strut their stuff at Adelaide Oval.
The teams are littered with legends - including Tony Modra, Matthew Primus and Mark Bickley - along with celebrities such as Anthony "Lehmo" Lehmann, and Guy Sebastian, who signed his latest CD for fans and belted out the national anthem before pulling on a Crows guernsey for the game.
It's hoped about $300,000 will be raised for the McGuinness McDermott Foundation, which was set up by former Crows champion Tony McGuinness and inaugural Crows captain Chris McDermott in 1996 to raise funds for the treatment of ill children.
