Wow dragons fans giving their opinions on a tigers board, who'd have thought it...

Go back to blowing your load over signing the has been Bronson and never was rangichase

The difference of course, is that we are being positive about the guys you have (except for Anasta, who isn't a player's arsehole). The Tigers have huge potential. Tedesco, Miller, Sironen...all guys with massive futures.

I would prefer not to see Marshall in the #7 position ever again,to date it has been nothing but a failure, yet Sheens persisted with it time and again.Give Miller an opportunity to settle and develop with Anasta or Marshall at 5/8.

I saw on nrl.com that Mark Minichiello is off contract.

I'd take him over Pettybourne and Anasta any day of the week.

No way,has like feet and gives away a stack of penalties,Anasta will be good for us,and Pettybourne will be better value than Mini

I think that if we formed our attack with Robbie controlling the ruck, Benji leading our left side attack with Anasta leading the right, and Miller playing a distribution role of getting the ball to either Benji or Anasta. This would give us a team with four halves, all adequate-excellent kickers which could form a deadly attack.
Benji, Robbie and Anasta are seasoned players and will be able to really show their ability with structured workload. All last season it was just Robbie and Benji running all over the field and trying to come up with plays.
Whatever our strategy is, I do hope Potter sticks with it and allows the players to form combinations.

One thing I have been discussing with a friend is what would we do if Miller was injured first round (like Tedesco). I do hope we have a plan B. I don't think Anasta suits a halfback role, we no longer have Humble and lets face it....we are not putting Moltzen at half again.

Anasta's best assets are his defence and long kicking game.

I think the best way to use him is to put him in the 13, but give him the kicking duties when in your own half. A bit like Sinfield does in the ESL.

It's not something many other NRL teams employ, but I'm not convinced Anasta has the creativity to play in the halves or the workrate to be a tacklebot forward.

1. Tedesco
6. Marshall
7. Miller
9. Farah
13. Anasta

14. Fulton

Tedesco's job is to roam the field looking for an offload. Marshall's job is to utilise his running, passign and short kicking game. Miller's job is to get the ball to Marshall. Farah's job is to get the ball to Miller.

Anasta's job is to tackle hard, run good lines, and take the clearing kicks on the fifth tackle.

I agree with all this but add one more thing. Give Anasta the goal kicking duties.
He is better than Marshall who is very hot and cold.

While I agree with you, I also think Anasta has plenty of starch in attack and is a very adequate half, but yeah, defence and those big deep kicks are his strengths.
While I aslo want to see him at lock, there is no way he will play 80 mins. I guess having Benji take up his responsibilites when he is on the bench would work fine, but it is still something we will have to factor

Anastas best year of the last 4 or 5 was by far 2010 where he played pretty much exclusivley as a runner and did some kicking. He had carney and Pearce in great form who did the play making. The last 2 year she hasn't had that. With us he should have benji, Robbie and miller doing all that stuff so he can just do what he did so well in 2010 for the roosters.

Well I guess this article will put the Marshall at 6 or 7 and Anasta at 7 or back row debate to bed. Saying that, the majority of posters here can see that Marshall can only be at 6, i.e he ain't no 7.

Potter yesterday confirmed Marshall would play five-eighth this year, telling The Daily Telegraph: "Benji's an exceptional talent who can do things other players just can't and we want to make that blossom."

Anasta also insisted he was looking forward to playing back-row and to lead by example at his new club.

The debate regarding Anasta at 7 would have different if supercoach was still gracing the halls at concord.
Glad the cancer is gone.

You gotta laugh at Potter compared to Sheens. Potter seems much more realistic.

To be fair I liked Sheens and I think Anasta at 7 could work. The thing is if you take risks and if they don't come off you have to live with the consequences. Sheens stuffed up and he should accept that things didn't work out and move on without expecting a massive payout.

Anasta isn't a great goal kicker. Benji improved this year, keep him as goalkicker.

Fulton needs to start in the back row, purely to help the halves in defence.

You're the numbers man. Give us the stats between the two.
Include metres gained on kicks if possible.
