weve had some crazy golden point games

04. vagana scores a 60 meter try vs eels
05? vince mellars vs newcastle
07. lose to tigers in GP on that kick
07. beat parra to end losing streak
08. Beat St George twice? certainly the first game.
08. lose to penrith in home opener
2010 - down 18-0 to the cowboys and win

It was a very very encouraging display from the Sharks.
If they get there completion rate to something reasonable they will be bloody hard to beat.

In the 2nd half, they looked dangerous and had good shape with Carney running the show and Best running good lines. Best was possibly best on ground and maybe a bit unlucky with the double movement.
Gibbs goes alright, Fifita looks dangerous and Bakuya could be anything.
Pomeroy was impressive as well!
Gardener is getting some stick on here but I reckon he went alright
The 1st try was pure arse so I'm not going to blame him for that.
The Sharks are a better side with Gardener in the team.

After seeing that display, it looks like we are not going to depend on GRINDING out wins like normal which is refreshing.

They didn't really deserve the end result for the effort they put in under very trying conditions.
That was not a penalty in golden point time either.

If there head is in the right spot and with a packed house next Sunday, I fancy us against the Knights.
They just have to mentally freshen up and they will deliver.
Go you SHARKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not to mention if we had set up for the field goal like St George do...with 3 forwards standing as a wall so that no player can actually get through to make the chargedown, he probably would have slotted it.

Difference between a team that is calm and calculated and a team that panics.

Only with exposure to these situations however will they improve.

Three Positives for me,
1. That the extra time kaffuffle happened in Round One, and they can learn from that and be better prepared for future golden point situations.

2. They competed well against a competition favourite - 3 tries a piece, and kept there composure desipte being 8 points down and committing multiple errors. That signals a very positive vibe in the team.

3. Wins in the lower grades.

Looking forward to next Sunday.

Frenzy.

No apparent major injuries.
More ball movement eventually.
Gallen out of the 3/4 line in this game.
Tupou looks improved.
Morris.
Bakuya.
Phlegmo got a say and it's not gonna cost 10k.
Top Cat's second half.
Tupou/Smith combo.
Best improved.
Pom improved.
Very low missed tackle count despite very low completion rate in first half.
Overall higher completion rate than the Tigpies.
High tackle break count - nearly 2 x the Tigpies.

Spot on with all of those.

Plus we didn't look noticeably weaker when the bench players came on (in fact the opposite).
Some of our kicks were good (some weren't, but plenty more good ones than most of last year).
Forwards dominated Tigers forwards.
We made many line breaks, tackle busts, and looked genuinely threatening with the ball in hand.
Except vs kicks, our defense was a lot better than Tigers as well.

I liked both Best's and Pom's displays. I think that could be partially due to TC's presence inside taking some defensive focus off them. Didn't think much of the wingers though.
Spewing at the rip off by incompetent or criminal refereeing. Could cost us big at season's end. Not as bad as 78 though where similar refereeing behaviour cost us our first premiership. Never let it rest, Popper.

Went through about 3l of water today at work but I think I left it too late. I used to buy those hydralite ice blocks which were awesome for hangovers. I've had two bad ones in a week at work.. Not good! f**ken red lion....

Cure the hangover, abstain from intake of the Devils poison.

The good lord created water for all his creatures and it falls from his sky.

Have you ever seen an elephant with a hangover.

Praise be the Lord.
