I hope your club isn't that lucky.

Vinnie Mellars is an absolute star of the future, and not far off starring at the present. He is big, quick, and has good ball skills. He has high tackle %'s, perhaps occasionally he can be caught out misreading the wide 2nd man play on the line.

I'd need to know more about him. Iafeta is a pretty switched on sorta bloke from what I can tell though, so he could be a coup for us. Does he play left or right centre?

Do you think Vagana had anything to do with this ;-) and if so both Vagana and Lomu might have some pull with Lauiti'iti, all this should make for an interesting couple of days

can't see anything wrong there. hope he comes over. he's looked the goods when i've seen him playing. talented, aggressive, young, strong, quick. oh... and he CAN tackle (matt reick please take note  )

still won't be counting on it 'til it's announced, but imagine picking up mellars and lauiti'iti next week ! cool

Lauiti'iti has been linked to 8 clubs in Australia and 4 in England, so far.

Take a number and stand in line.

his a centre who can play prop?

But really the club needs a number 4....

and 5/8 - hows that for versatile. Sounds like he would be an awesome buy. Lets hope there is some truth in the rumour.

The question is, how much money have we got left? Obviously, a young up and comer in Merrit, an International in Lomu and the massively priced Vagana would have put a HUGE dint in the salary cap...also there's still Peachey, Kimmorley, Stevens, Beattie and Bailey who all would take up sizeable chunks. I think its one or the other really...for mine I'd take Lauatiti....but Mellars is still a very good player.

From what I can remember Mellars played a really good game and scored 1 or 2 tries on debut against us. Not a bad effort, has he played 1st grade this season?
