ST George Illawarra coach Nathan Brown is ready to turn the 'available for hire' sign on.
Told on April 1 that his contract would not be renewed after six NRL seasons in charge of the Dragons, Brown said he would actively start seeking a new post for next season.
A job as an assistant coach somewhere in the NRL appears the most obvious next step, Brown having already stated his desire to return as a a top flight head coach sometime down the track.
"I'll start seriously looking at it in the coming weeks, in five months I won't have a job," Brown said.
"The first four to six weeks my main focus was going well here and hopefully the last three weeks have given us something to build on.
"At some point though you've got to start looking around - if I was only on my own it wouldn't be so bad but I've got too many other people I've got to feed."
Cronulla looms as a potential new home with the Sharks yet to replace Jim Dymock following his decision to link up with new Bulldogs coach Kevin Moore in 2009.
Brown claimed he had yet to speak to any potential new employers but was adamant he would find another coaching gig.
"There's some people out there that would be willing to give me work, I reckon, who I enjoy working with," Brown said.
"Whether there's anything available out there I'm not too sure."
Incoming Dragons coach Wayne Bennett has yet to finalise his support staff for next season and beyond, but there appears little possibility of Brown remaining at the joint venture club under his guidance.
