I think Quigs will love this more than us getting trent!!!!!

ST George Illawarra coach Nathan Brown is ready to turn the 'available for hire' sign on.
Told on April 1 that his contract would not be renewed after six NRL seasons in charge of the Dragons, Brown said he would actively start seeking a new post for next season.

A job as an assistant coach somewhere in the NRL appears the most obvious next step, Brown having already stated his desire to return as a a top flight head coach sometime down the track.

"I'll start seriously looking at it in the coming weeks, in five months I won't have a job," Brown said.

"The first four to six weeks my main focus was going well here and hopefully the last three weeks have given us something to build on.

"At some point though you've got to start looking around - if I was only on my own it wouldn't be so bad but I've got too many other people I've got to feed."

Cronulla looms as a potential new home with the Sharks yet to replace Jim Dymock following his decision to link up with new Bulldogs coach Kevin Moore in 2009.

Brown claimed he had yet to speak to any potential new employers but was adamant he would find another coaching gig.

"There's some people out there that would be willing to give me work, I reckon, who I enjoy working with," Brown said.

"Whether there's anything available out there I'm not too sure."

Incoming Dragons coach Wayne Bennett has yet to finalise his support staff for next season and beyond, but there appears little possibility of Brown remaining at the joint venture club under his guidance.

I'd rather Muzz. Don't know how he and Ricky get on though after Muzz got the arse for Stuart.

Wouldn't think Muz would want to settle for a assistant coaching position though would he?

Although on the other hand, if he has coaching ambitions down the track, not a bad idea to at least maintain some coaching role somewhere.

Would work out nicely for Gould as well, could attack both guys in the one column.

I reckon Brown is a good bloke.
Would get on well with the players and wouldn't be type of guy to knife the head coach whose job he is eyeing off.

He has a pretty good head for the game - but asisstant is his gig - not head coach.

Thommo, Barrett, brown. Who's next? Skull?

He might. In the mould of Royce Simmons. A job is a job is a job and if he has bills to pay he may have to take an assistant job.

Look at George Roper. Wanted to stay an NRL coach and ended up hiring suits out of a van beofre becoming a sideline eye for FOX.

Poor George.

Least if we get Naffin and Trenty Boy is sidelined .... well ... it could be naffin's job to slap him back into shape.

Wake me up when the nightmare is over.

Just imagine this all happening and maybe just maybe we win the big one soon. Just imagine the dirty rotten stains claiming our victory.

narrrrr f**k him off - no trentsy - no naffin' - it just ryles me to think we want this Stains driftwood on our beach.

Cheers

Was Stevo a reject? Thommo? Ben Ross? Ken Maddsion? Graeme Bowen?

People won't like it and I swear I am not geeing Quigs up :) but most Dragons players we get do well.

Perhaps Beau Scott wasn't a worldbeater with the Sharks Brett Kelly wasn't what we wanted in the end but generally we get the better ex Drags.

Bloody Bowen was a local junior.... damn it cartman !!!!

Everybody knows we made Kenny Maddison
Did he have his rothmans medal when playing for the filth?
Did he make the Aussie team playing for the filth?

We took Thommo in because of a good kind heart, he was homeless.

As for Stevo, we were hoping to get him laid.
Probably the start of our Christian cycle.

I wouldn't want him as a head coach but the bloke has held the dragons job for years and is more then qualified to be rickys water boy.

And he is not entitled to ride on the team bus

Man, that guy used to scare the crapper out of me when I was a kid.

What became of him?

This reminds me of Rapers "For Sale" signs when he got sacked.

Put it this way, if you were good enough there would be no need for a job application.
