Forum Sevens Possibles v Probables Tournament 2004

The F7s PvP tournament of 2004 is made up of 8 teams: 4 newcomer teams (Possibles) who will face off against 4 current teams (Probables).

The idea behind the PvP is to give teams an opportunity to show that they can field a full team and play at a level where they can compete in the F7s competition of 2005.

Win lose or draw, the PvP teams with the best organisation will be considered when the invitations for the 2005 F7s competition are issued, early in the New Year.
Winning the PvP is not the main criteria, although is obviously helps.

The PvP tournament is designed so that each team gets a minimum of two matches.

The tournament will start in round 1 with 4 games: ‘Possibles’ verses Probables’. Teams were drawn from two boxes: one team at a time from each box.

Winners of round 1 advance to round 2, and the Shield Semi Final.
Losers of round 1 advance to round 2, and the Plate Semi Final.

Losers in round 2 are eliminated from the tournament. (Please note that this does not necessarily mean no invitation will be issued to join the F7s).

Winners in round 2 advance to their respective Shield and Plate Finals.

There is the option for the undefeated Shield winners to accept a challenge from the Plate winners (who lost one match in round 1). If the challenge is issued and the Shield winners accept, both these teams will play off in a PvP CUP FINAL at a date which is agreeable to both captains.

Actually, if I was trying to get into the F7s, I'd want to play premiers at the first chance and catch them off guard. Get them while their smug and still suffering from beer gut and way too many pizzas...

With nothing everything to gain, and nothing to lose, we look forward to our first ever effort in ANY F7's type tournament.

Good luck to all teams ;-)

Good luck Warriors... you'll be facing a team of mostly Baby Eels.

Willow, I assume match H is loser of C vs loser of D... otherwise the loser of B might get a bit tired.

Also, good luck to the 3 rookie refs on debut

I like to play our match at North Harbor Stadium please :D

I'm happy to include cyber venues as being the Possibles home grounds.

However, the home ground advantage (ie an extra reserve, as in the rules) won't apply. We're trying to make it normal playing conditions for both sides.

If captains have a home ground picture, send it to me or post it here.

Cheers.

The South Florida Bulls run in conjunction with the Gold Coast Dolphins consortium looking for entry into the NRL competition. Below is the mighty USF Bulls home ground:

_____Gold Coast Stadium Carrarra _______

Carrara Stadium is located on Nerang-Broadbeach Rd, Carrara (8km west of Surfers Paradise) and is central to a number of Gold Coast suburbs.

The USF Bulls graveyard in the coming years for F7's opponents!

It'll be a great match and whatever the outcome, hope to see your side invited into next year's comp. Can't wait for the clash :)
