I think the original point Aries made is a valid and relevant one. This time last year we had the papers plastering stories of an unhappy, non-captain David Peachey around the place. The year before, we had the Preston Campbell saga.

This year? A couple of bland pieces on Stuart Raper. We've really stayed out of the spotlight and it could be a major positive for us.

The point is Ando has gone. It's done. Get over it. But if you can't then at least try and be a bit accurate.

I am well over it. The cancer was been removed. :)

yep subject closed. As far as setting us back three years, the board took a shot and it didnt work out. There are knockers and there are followers, it will be interesting to see what happens if we lose the first 3 or 4 games. There has already been some "raper rubbishing" about the fact we lost the trial down in ulladulla.

I hope we are a bit more supportive this time around. one week to go.

The way see the CA area is a as good one.......
The reason for this who decided to clean out the reserve grade side, under lang I think the average age was about 26 thats far too old IMO with very little standout talent, there is exceptions of course Mellor, Preston.
How do penrith fans feel about Royce Simmons? even though he is responsible for cleaning out their reserve grade, and look what has happened Two or three years of mediocrity, and BAM a premiership, Im not saying JL had no part in it but the nucleus of last years side came from Simmons' cleanout.
I actually think he is a very low merkin, but if his cleanout results in a premiership I wouldnt think to bad of him, still would never want him back though

Merrit was signed without Ando being told hence the dumby spit and sacking of his talant scout I can't recall his name but Ando must have seen the writing on the wall he would have had to make the dission. Jarrod or Merrit. Hmmmm thats a hard one

I just found the Talent Scout's/Recruitment Manager's name Theo Burgess. :D in this bit below.

Anderson - who according to the Sharks has also dispensed with his long-time recruitment manager, Theo Burgess - insisted the two actions were not related.

John Lang announced at the beginning of 2001 that it was his last year at the Sharks. He had been here long enough and needed a change. We then employed CA several Months later, after HE chucked a spazz and quit the Storm... JL wasn't picked up by Penrith until VERY late in 2001. JL thought he may "go fishing" for a while, but Penrith offered him an 11th hour coaching Job... I'm sure Richo was behind that also... Martin Lang was already signed there months earlier also!!

So, JL was leaving at the begining of 2001... Do you think he would have left every aged player here if he was STILL in charge of the team over the next 2 years? I doubt he would have. I also doubt he would have ditched some of the players that CA did, and for personal conflict reasons... and I guarantee you, that Jarrod Anderson would not have got a start in First Grade, or a contract at Cronulla

I was thinking about that the other day Sully, and I reckon it was all part of his "master plan".

He tried to win it with pretty much the same bunch of guys in 2002 and failed. We all heard the comments about "losing culture" etc, well maybe that was his way of getting us to change:- install a TOTAL losing culture for one season and make the guys realise just how much it hurts to lose week in, week out. Forget about being contented making the semis, we're not even going to come close.

Then recruit well for the next year and start again, hopefully with the remainder of guys determined not to get flogged every week.

Who knows? Interesting concept though.

Nah, that opinion is bollocks.

" This is the next step, we have to go further than last year. I want to keep trying to improve each year so obviously our goal is the grand final this year."

Anderson quoted in 2003b Big League review.

It's time for the Ando apologists to move on as well. He wasn't the Messiah, he may not even have contributed much to getting the current squad together.

Anderson's prediction in the telegraph this morning where he states will finish tenth has got to be a gee up. Under weaknesses he says, "The Sharks rely way too much on their two props and half back." Everyone knows whilst he was at the club that he said all he needed to win a premiership was two god props and a great half back.........

Anderson's statement reeks of bitterness - I thought this was the team he was going to take to the grand final. Is he impling that only he as coach could get them there.

I think CA is just having a joke.

He wouldnt have a dig like that at BK, JS and DN, three of his favourite players, unless he was just having a larf.
