JARRYD Hayne is set to become rugby league's $4million man - and the star Parramatta Eel remains for sale. The Daily Telegraph can also reveal the reformed bad boy is being targeted as a poster boy for the NRL next season. Hayne's contract talks with Parramatta have officially been placed on hold until after the season, although it is understood the Eels are ready to table a four-year deal worth about $2million.
His amazing form will also see Hayne, who is off contract at the end of next season, cash in on his growing superstar status by collecting mega-bucks in off-field sponsorships and endorsements. Hayne could attract third-party deals worth $150,000 a year, while celebrity manager Max Markson believes the NSW star could also secure corporate sponsorship worth about $250,000 a year.
He could earn another $50,000 through annual representative payments. Eels chief executive Paul Osborne and Hayne's manager Wayne Beavis have suspended contract discussions to avoid their red-hot player becoming "distracted'' leading into the finals.
"Jarryd is a turnstile-clicker - the `go-to' guy for rugby league,'' Beavis said. "In his short time in the game, I reckon he has achieved more than any player in the history of the game. There will be plenty of offers at the appropriate time and plenty of money.''
Osborne added: "Wayne and I have spoken and agreed it best not to disrupt his form. Everything is going so well, we didn't want any distractions. We will re-commence negotiations after the season - hopefully that is in October, not September.''
Hayne has become a true star of the game - a fact not lost on the NRL which is discussing using Hayne to promote the league, Test football and State of Origin in 2010. That promotion, though, would be free of charge.
"We haven't determined how we will use our marketing dollars in 2010 but we will find appropriate ways to market Jarryd for the premiership and State of Origin,'' NRL marketing director Paul Kind said.

A lot of pressure and expectation is starting to be placed upon him, will be interesting to see if he can sustain his current form and stay out of constant media scrutiny unlike a lot of other high profile players have been able too.
Avoiding Kings Cross gunmen will also probably extend his success.

Wrong.

David Williams.

Won GF + Aus Rep + SOO Rep in first year of football.

Not saying that the clean-shaven gimp is better than Hayne 'cos he's obviously not, but that statement is stupid.

He hasn't even played for Australia or been in finals football (I think?) or won a state of origin series.

There is more he can do.

edit: the Eels were in the finals in 07 weren't they.

And 06 aswell, Haynes debut year. Also in 07 Hayne played for Australia. So you got 1/3 right. Keep trying.

Lol sorry if I didn't remember his one game for Australia. He didn't exactly have his spot in lockdown.

To continue stuff his never done:
Won a Grandfinal, played for New Zealand (running out of ideas), won a golden boot?

edit: I'm not trying to bash him, I'm just saying that theres more to do. People were bashing cuties list of accomplishments and he had done more.

State of Origin could prove the "poision chalice" theory for Williams.

Bloke hasn't got his head right since his drop-a-thon in this year's series

And the guy he replaced, James McManus, has only had about 5min of footy since SOO1

You could be on to something there....
