Well that should just be the rule then Fans pick the coach.
Doesn't matter that the senior players who are with him everyday have identified his poor communication and lack of football knowledge.
The main thing is that the Fans get what they want.

I don't care what the fans or the players think. The club should make a decision in a calm rational fashion.

After all this drama though I don't care if Potter does go and I voted to keep him.

Oh really? The senior players have identified poor communication and lack of football knowledge? Can you verifiy your source where you obtained this information? Maybe a quote?

No you can't.

You're just the same as every other spastic out there who believes everything they hear in the media and in public forums. Zero-tackle is not a reliable source of information.

Time to go Potter. Your "they came up with some good plays"
Press conferences are becoming Sheensesque. The squad might be injury ravished but if you can't get the players up and conceed over 100 in 2 weeks you've lost me.

Hard to see him now as the guy to take us forward. Too much water under the bridge.

Will be lucky to get any gigs after this debacle over he last month. Feel for him.

Coaches shouldn't have to tell players to play with heart and pride. You should have that by the time you play 1st grade.

I originally voted for him to stay, but I have already said, rightly or wrongly, the last 3 games has made him a dead man walking.

But who is available?

But who is available? Anthony Griffin . One from left field Jason Demetriou from Q Cup side Nthn Pride. A very good coach .

Potter has been white-anted since the day he started the job. Who's to say the next coach won't suffer the same fate? Hopefully the new board will fix that. And if Potter goes, some of the cats who've been putting in pea-hearted performances on the field the last few weeks should be shown the door as well.

Well the cats will be staying, nothing surer. They need strong performance based clauses in player contracts, unfortunately you can't just offload them for performance based issues without heavily penalising the club. It's a real problem when you sign promising players to big contracts and they don't perform. Young promising players don't have to earn big money contracts anymore, they are given too much too early, and a lot of the time it comes through in their shit attitudes.

On topic, Potter is gone but it's slim pickings in the coaching department. Maybe some new blood? One of Ivan Cleary or Wayne Bennets former assistants? Potter probably should get another chance, sack his current staff and be allowed to recruit his own team, fresh start with no one from the current club eligible to apply

If nothing changes, the next coach will suffer the same fate. The new board needs to be put in place and reform needs to continue. The constitution needs to change so that the board does not select the head coach, a football manager needs to put in between the board and the head coach and allow the CEO to focus on the business side of operations, the head coach needs to be able to select his own coaching staff. Just hiring another head coach will be painting over dirt until these structural issues are addressed.

Maybe Ronald could select the coach as well.

I hear junior burger has just passed a mini league coach's course and the great man is talking him up as the new jack Gibson.

Which coach of any quality is going to come to this basket case joint run by a perma permed weatherman and bass guitarist from masters apprentices who's necked more battery acid than Marshall's batteries

If we get rid of Potter, he must be replaced by some who is at the very least, as experienced as Potter.

There's no point replacing him with a rookie.

We need Steve Folkes. A disciplinarian who is very good at defensive structures and player fitness. Two areas we are disgraceful at.

I agree. If it isn't Potter there next year it needs to be Folkes or someone very similar. Folkes will get the defensive structures in place and thrash the whole team in fitness training pre-season. He commands respect, won't play favourites and won't put up with lazy efforts. I dare-say that he wouldn't put up with board bullshit either.

Folkes????Headcoach, not so sure, yes he brings discipline and a strong fitness regime to the table, but I think we need a younger coach with all the right skills.

Jason Taylor has always been a guy with a good football brain, he would be my choice and hopefully he could bring someone like Folkes along to look after defense and fitness

Agreed.. forgive me if im wrong but our last finals appearance was when Folks was on board ? Regardless who is coach we have the inbuilt WT softcock culture and the players will always find a reason to explain their OWN failures to provide 100% on the field ... BUT win lose or draw and injuries.. im no stats man but I can bet that the years Folkes was here pushing these pussys merkins we didn't leak points like we have since.
Any chance MU u can do your magic and do the stats?
