I put it down to Manly forcing them to play bad. Obviously the Storm didn't do the same job. Thats how I see it, but you can put whatever spin you like on it.
You're the one putting spin on it. Manly forced Tigers and Raiders to drop the ball and be completely useless in attack? What sort of crap is that? Tigers are terrible in the rain, Raiders were a completely new team, and Roosters are the worst team in the comp.

Manly haven't played a form team yet. The best team they played is Tigers, and that was in the rain where they can't put anything together in attack.

Round 1 - The strongest team IMO was Warriors. Weakest were Panthers and Raiders. (Roosters were close)
Round 2 - The strongest team IMO was Cowboys. Weakest were Roosters and Tigers.
Round 3 - The strongest team IMO was Storm. Weakest were Knights and Roosters.

Storm are the form team of the comp atm. They've improved greatly with each match. Against the Warriors, it was 80 minutes of good footy. Manly against Roosters was about 20 minutes.

All I remember is that you don't convincingly beat Manly like you would like to believe.

So it's gone from you not being able to remember the last time the Storm beat Manly to now being you only remember that we don't beat Manly convincingly. I think that's called selective memory knackers

What do you mean "Like i would like to believe"? Where did i even imply that? You're the one that brought up Manly v Storm you dolt not me. I couldn't care less if we beat a team by 1 point or a 100 points whether it be Manly or anyone else

You do need to give the winning team more credit. You are saying it is coincidence that all the teams Manly have played against all played their worst game against them. I disagree. I watched the game Manly played against the Roosters and in the first half it looked that Manly might actually loose. If you were watching Manlys game plan in the first half and then saw how it changed in the second half you will understand that it is not just about one team having an off day and losing.

Its collective "You" and "I".

Just remember that even the best team all year doesn't necessarily get the prize at the end of the year.

Uh no. Manly did not make the Raiders and Tigers play like crap. I watched both games and both teams were awful. Against the Roosters, the fact that the Roosters looked like winning in the first half, just shows how bad Manly had been playing. A good 20 minutes against the Roosters is nowhere near putting them ahead of the Storm who SMASHED the Warriors.

Raiders were terrible in Round 1 and have improved each week since.
Tigers were ok Round 1, played crappy in the rain in Round 2, and this week were pretty average.
Roosters have been crap in all 3 games.

Manly have not faced a decent team yet. Storm, Cowboys, Souths.... all could have won those games with ease. Heck, even winless teams like Broncos would have probably won them.

To be honest, I can't believe Melbourne fans could be so precious. Still, I'm not changing it! ;-)

Manly play the Warriors this weekend.

Hopefully it will be the 4th team in a row that has played their worst game all year against Manly. We wouldn't want to put too much praise on Manly.

Again, when did i say that they did or even imply it? Talk about going off on a tangent. Just what are you on? Never mind don't answer that, you'll just reply with something that's completely irrelevant to what we're actually talking about

You should've cottoned onto that when they all went into hiding for months after the grand final.

Tigers are pathetic in the rain, and Raiders definitely played their worst game Round 1.

Roosters is impossible to pick a worst. They've been crap in all 3 games.

It's not a biased opinion like it would be from a Manly supporter. I'm not defending my own team here.

The power rankings are one persons assesment of all the teams performances for that week. You have a differing opinion, but I agree with the LU ratings. Manly should be struggling considering who they have out. The fact they are not says a couple of things:

-They have the depth required to counter their injured players.
-Their game plans are working.

Whereas a full strength Storm are expected to win the games they played (and win well), a struggling Manly (who are leading the comp) were expected to lose at least one. So the power ranking are probably right when you take into consideration the score and who they had in/out.

Well the power rankings did not come from anybody who is in love with Manly either.

Hardly went into hiding. I remember at least a week of bitter, bitter whining about the ref. Then hiding.

Imagine if it been the Broncos that had lost under those exact same circumstances...we'd still be arguining about it. Imagine Wayne Bennett? He'd probably have incurred $1 billion in fines by now. Courier Mail would have urged its readers to boycott the Tri-nations, Broncos themselves would have gone on strike and refused to play the World Club Challenge in the UK.

Hell - all we did was point out the bloody obvious bad calls - bleat out 'we woz robbed' a few times, and one of our players in a drunken stooper, called the ref (aptly mind you) a dickhead.

I know which team I'd rather be associated with...go Storm!

Charlie, i couldn't give a toss whatsoever about the rankings and i never once said i have. The only thing i did was try to explain to a Manly supporter why in his words he was trying to work out why people were blowing so much smoke up the Storm's arse. I then went on to tell him that it might be because the Storm beat a red hot Warriors outfit and Manly had yet to beat a team that was going as well as the Warriors. That wasn't having a go, it's fact.

Again, i couldn't care less about the ratings and if the truth be known i never even knew they were there until it was pointed out today. I haven't looked at them before today and i doubt i'll look at them again.

Well they are interesting reading.

I wasn't aware that the warriors were red hot. To me they have been playing like a middle of the road team to be honest.

Can't remember the last time NZ beat Manly. I can remember the last time Manly beat the Storm, not to mention no wins for the storm against Manly for a couple of years at least now.

Don't worry precious, the last time the Warriors beat Manly was the last time the Warriors played at Brookie, so it's not that long ago (4 from 5 at Brookie IIRC too). If I'm not mistaken, round 26, 2005, to knock the Sea Eagles out of the top 8, won with a try to go with 2 minutes to go from the immortal Stacey Jones in his last Warriors appearance. The Sea Eagles played the Warriors once last year and won. Coincidentally, New Zealand are the Kiwis, I can only assume you are talking about the Warriors who are not the New Zealand the might and power of the national side as you titling of them indicates.

Bugger. I'd semi-wiped that game from my mind. BK finished the game on the sideline, injuring himself after scoring what looked like the match-winning try. Then Manly just collapsed when faced with Jones running the ball and parted like the red sea...

Did it actually knock Manly out of the 8 though? I thought it simply meant that we were in danger of being knocked out the next week (if we lost to Canberra, which we didn't).
