No point in having a 3, 2, 1 in a pre-season game so give us your thoughts on who the best players were.

What did you think of the newbies and juniors ?

Did you notice any difference in the coaching, like attacking and defensive structures ?

Overall I was very happy with the team's performance in the trial. We looked well coached, had plans in attack, and executed well. Willing in defence, and not easily stripped on the edges

Impressed with most of the new faces, and liked what I saw from Tuavati, Latu, T Brown, Nanva, Twiddle and even Loizou.

Pretty good first game back from Penisini and AMS considering.

R Smith looks a goer, but he is very small in stature. Same with Papalii. Liked Ionghi, you could see how much faster his kick returns are over Gutho. Guymer a workhorse.

I thought Iongi looked good but not enough involvement, Papalii had more involvement but yeh, he's a little bloke and I wouldn't play him at FB.

I liked Volkman at no 7 and he is a real sharp shooter, the lad can kick.

AMS looks like he's learnt how to tackle.

Some of our forwards were great but so many new names to get used to I couldn't tell who from who at the end.

I thought Dylbro was very good at the start but faded. He played more of a ball playing half and ran the ball more than he did under BA, and his ball playing looked better.

I thought Riley Smith was also impressive.

Coaching wise our defense overall was an improvement, better line speed and enthusiasm and energy. Also our attack I thought was more varied than 5 hit ups and a kick. We hit the ball up from various positions like 2 or 3 passes wide instead of up the middle every time and it was less predictible and we seem to use our backs a lot more.

I saw a good video. A teacher splits the class in two but the students are not aware. They have 3 words to unscramble. One after the other. The first 2 words are different whilst the 3rd is the same. Students raise hands when get answer correct.
The trick is on one side they get words you can't unscramble.

By the time the 3rd (same) question comes what happens? The side that had two easy words to solve answer the 3rd word easily whilst the other side struggle. Reason being confidence was shot......

Tactical changes may of been present but the biggest difference I noticed was our confidence. We looked more composed

Iongi - played well was only on for 20 minutes or so set up that try that would bring a tear to a glass eye.
Tago - coming from RMC he has been really solid rolling up his sleaves taking hit ups from our line.
Dick - solid for his second senior game needs to continue to learn how to get his winger space in attack and defend.
Samrani - needs to dominate a bit more when taking a hit up defense options need work
AMS - solid needs to stop the dropsies and get over the advantage line taking a hitup plus fast play the ball.
Brown - does well when he has a half controlling things
Volk - Solid setup kelma with a nice pass also gave Iongi nice ball to setup Tago.
Joe - Solid
Hands - Solid
Grieg - I am not a fan hasn't used his size at all.
Kautoga - runs a nice line (over the top of the opposition) needs to keep the ball tucked in.
Kelma - started slow finished strong
Guymer - tackled himself to a standstill needs a running game.

Joash - played well not sure what his best position is.
Sam - When he came on was the reason we scored a few tries just due to the opposition looking.
Toni - Surprised me how well he did in the middle has an offload can see him in the NRL
Carty- solid he is a 5/8 in a second rowers body

Lussick - solid it's not a game with Joe's if he doesn't go for a scoot.
Smith - Solid still needs time to develop
Pryke - Did ok took some hit ups made tackles.
Twidle - Should have been given a shot before Blaize last year! Can play in the halves or fullback setup a try down the blindside
Parker - was ok defends really well could be a nice option on min wage.
Latu - runs hard tackled hard
Lynn - did well as Halfback kicked pin point to a corner for a knock on them we scored the next set.
Nanva - big body probably an option at centre for CUP
Sam L - scored a nice try took some solid runs as well.
Tupou - NA
Brown - NA
