Pre wash soak vs Bulldogs

Well, I see this as potential trench warfare, not really the weather for opting for too many risk vs reward plays but we'll see.

Not many changes needed.

I think the best bet is to continue going down the middle but for longer. The Dogs are short on strike so will be out to do an old fashioned Sharks on us. You know, drag us down to the level they can win at. So the Sharks have to be ready for a real hard dogfight. I'd like to see our big middles work their little forwards over for extended periods. I'd ask AFB for more minutes in this one. He should be OK. He's used to longer minutes than he's been getting. If he can get longer and OK can get another 5 or 10 means less of Toby on his return. Toby scares me when he gets the blows and he's been out of action a while.

We should spot Mahoney. Yeah he'll make his tackles but he's misses heaps (7 per game average). Keep the air out of his lungs as it makes him miss and shuts him up.

Kicks to be long and chased fast and hard. Bombs to be high and directed at Montoya. I know he's the taller winger but he has a career riddled with dropsy. In doing it though the chasers have to get him immediately as he can get away for long kick returns.

Remind Salmon he's a weak gutted dog.

Bulldogs concede 50% of the tries scored against them on their right. That's the Critta/Blake Wilson side. All the tries were run in, none off kicks. Wilson wanders.

Iro and Ronnie. Stay awake lads

Well Doc, you sure as f**k picked that game.
I didn't even have to apply rocket science to figure out the Dogs would be coming with bullets, grenades, mortars, flash bombs, incendiary devices and rockets.

The Sharks, to a man, became Frank Burns cowering in a corner of the supply room.

First time the coach has appeared shaky in a presser. Usually wears his happy with life mask willing to say it was a great contest and we were right in it.
Hes a hard man who played hard and wouldve been pissed we got beat in the fight.
Hynes hates the contact. Can't hit in defence. Hates getting tackled hard. Needs watch the bloke with ADHD at Melbourne who wears 6. The harder they come, the better he plays.
Atkinson has got post contract-signing form. For us, the bloke can only play 1 position. In the halves. He's useless anywhere else.
Would Bellamy put Hynes at left centre with Ronaldo? Because pretty sure he wouldve worked out the no 7 experiment won't win you a title.

Long time listener, first time caller...

I love the Newtown Jets, but there is something about that partnership that is missing for me. I would argue that the Jets have utilized Sharks talent to win competitions, rather than Newtown being a stepping stone for NRL. The weak mentality stems from the Newtown partnership in terms of 80 minute performances.

Secondly, I attended the Sharks v Rabbits game and for the first time in my 52 years on earth, I despised being there - $43 to sit on the hill - No Thanks. It is an absolute disaster, there is zero atmosphere, in fact, I think it has now become "an event" to catch up with friends, take some snaps for social media and look at everything else happening other than the football.

I know I am getting old, but I thought that the development was genuinely designed to "save the Club" as well as enhance the game day experience - our lack of facilities are putrid. I would prefer to go to Allianz and play there.

It is really so disappointing, and honestly as others have pointed out the Club is having a lend.

Johns was right in some regards, the fact he praised Trindall after the way he played, and he wants Atko in there, shows he is totalled in the head
Edit: I didn't read that article, I saw the clip on the show. He said more on that, including putting Hynes at Fullback.
Billy Slater also had comments which weren't in the article.

Yep the atmosphere is one of the worst I've ever been to for a sporting event. Half the crowd are teenagers hooking up or watching tiktok on their phones together

The team probably feeds off that. The crowd dont give a f**k so why should we. I am only having a lend here but geez I wish we weren't so soft and just happy to be competitive

Fizman be the Oracle.
Plenty on here bag the ground, game day experience etc and I’m up there as a critic. And it is 100% correct.
Spent many a time back in the days of long past, on the eastern hill wandering in and out of the summertime bar and just living the blessed life. It was a great time and I have such fond memories.
I’ve been the last two weeks and it’s a hollow feeling. Blistering heat to miserable wet conditions and restricted views. Honestly, the only reason I still attend is to catch up with old mates. Full stop. We have a good laugh, chat and really just reminisce.
If the call goes out for us to bail on attending and dumping the GA annual pass - I would be relieved. Sad state of affairs when I would rather go to my second love Henson to watch the Jets.
The alternative though is getting Kayo and listened to the deadset dribble that is now part of the vernacular for the rugby league commentary.
I do however still find value in our relationship with Newtown, but that is more to do with my clear love for the blue bags.
Thanks for listening

Hynes was very passive in a passive team.

It's abundantly clear that he doesn't have another gear to his game and the 6 year, million dollar contract was ambitious and naive by the club. He is good commercially for the club and given the never ending issues with getting the Leagues club complete, the club will value the pr and extra cash.

The article shows zero insight and offers nothing. Fitz will back Hynes and hope he comes through. It's in the best interests of the team that he becomes a consistent high level performer. Whether he can or not is the question

Hahaha.....Thanks Mate.

To be more precise, attack wins the NSW Cup, not defense, so it is somewhat unfair to lay all of it on Newtown. I love the Jets as well.

How many games have we seen from Newtown where they are not switched on, are behind 18-0 and come back to win the game? This is not a good NRL Apprenticeship.

I think we all agree the quality of atmosphere is pretty much nonexistent.

Like the majority - Love Him, Love what he does for the community, Love what he does for the Club - all great things. It was clear that Nicho's career was killed by that first State of Origin a couple of years ago.

He cannot and will not deliver a Premiership to the Cronulla Sutherland Sharks.

He has been solid, even the loss to Panthers he was decent. Everyone wants him to grab a pair of waterskis and jump the shark like Fonzie, but realistically it ain’t happening every episode.
Sadly, your last sentence is one most don’t want to admit but something the coach needs to address.

Yep not the only one hating the game day and removing that northern concourse as GA has blown up on the club. Sell the ground, and the leagues club, build another 400-500 units and bank all of the profits this time. Go to Allianz and grown up as a club.
